So we're all dying of radiation sickness, all of the time, but for these nanomachines and the admin--NM and NIMA. Which seemed fine, except for when they lost power, which occurred just a week ago, at which point everyone above ground did start actively suffering the symptoms of radiation sickness.
This sounds like a bad sci-fi movie, except it's happening.
