I don't think hitting someone who has come in out of the cold is very nice. Invitation or not, this house is not our own, not our jurisdiction, and not our responsibility. Perhaps the noises you can hear come from the true occupant who is, even now, terrified at the prospect of two intruders asleep on his living room floor.
