Enoch hadn't walked out so much as stumbled out of the morgue, breath coming quick and shallow as he fought panic. Being rescued from near death, he was no stranger to. It happened to him again and again. It was the fact that his rescuer was, first, not his trusted friend, and two, nowhere to be found.
Also, he was blind. His eyes were still there, he'd checked in that first burst of panic. They were just useless. And he had no guide to aid him.
When someone called out to him, he turned his head in the direction of the voice, taking a hopeful, stumbling step towards it. And when the offer to speak came, he could not prevent his fear from coming out full force. This was a situation he'd never had to deal with before, and without the comfortable presence of those who would support him, he was a lot less confident than he would be to begin with.
"No, I...I can't see. I don't know what happened to me, I-..."
He choked on his words and went silent, trying desperately to compose himself. With the loss of his sight and the presence of another person, the situation threatened to overwhelm him.
