There had been something that had caught the noble's eye and in his need to discover something fresh he had spent a good portion of the remaining time digging in the snow. It had been nothing but a broken mirror and not perhaps a buried cabinet along with it from his knowledge of vanities containing items within. All in all the moment had been enough to entice him in forgetting the current time. After being in this wretched place for over two weeks he should know better than to stop during late hours to look at anything.
So here he was barging into the nearest shelter mere seconds before lockdown and while consideration should be taken as to whether or not it was already occupied it did little to stop him from closing the door behind him in just enough time to watch the light from outside disappear all together. Though... he's not alone and he can barely make out something or someone within that darkness.
With his back pressing more firmly against the door and a shard from that broken mirror sliding from his coat pocket into his hand his numb fingers twitched in anticipation of a fight whether it was coming or not. His voice was calm despite that feeling and confident to back his own words, "I know you're there and I am armed. There's no need to be shy..."
