ONE: YOUR COOPERATION IS APPRECIATED When you wake up, you find that a new application has been downloaded to your tablet. It's titled "SURVEY" and is exactly what it claims to be--although there's no explanation to why it's appeared or what it is for other than the note that claims the survey is not opt-out and that your cooperation is appreciated. And more troubling, the questions become more sinister the farther in you answer. Such questions as, "on a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your stay?" and "have your needs been met in a timely manner?" become more akin to, "if you had to chose between the two, would you eat your hands or your feet to stave off the hunger?" and "are you sure you are not the last one still alive?"
Perhaps someone on the Network would like to discuss what this could mean--and if there are any consequences behind finishing or refusing to take the survey.
TWO: NOT SO HELPFUL AVATARS Every tablet has the option for a customizable avatar that will talk to you and keep your tablet in order. Maybe you set it up, maybe you never checked it. Either way, it keeps popping up unrequested and being sort of... Odd. Flickering, talking in strange, mechanical voices, offering advice that's unhelpful at best and actively harmful at worst... Maybe it's even telling the entire network some things you've been doing you'd rather everyone didn't know.
Time to call tech support. Unfortunately, the best option is other people on the network. Good luck.
Action Prompts
THREE: SPIDERS IN THE WALLS Somehow you or your travel companion injured themselves. A quick call to the admin fixed this, but now you can't help but be gripped with the burning curiosity of where the helpful spiders she deployed have gone. You saw them scramble toward the vents, but by the time paralysis wore off they'd completely disappeared. Only now you can't stop thinking about them. Where do they go to? How can they be trapped or followed? You swear you hear little mechanical pattering inside the walls. Maybe you can find some sort of tool to help you break into a vent around the house. Or maybe your companion can convince you to rest before you hurt yourself.
FOUR: SCHOOL DAYS You've ended up in the elementary school. Maybe you're grabbing more food, maybe you're exploring. Either way, this place is creepy; the atmosphere is the sort that gets the hair on the back of your neck rising (potentially metaphorically, if you don't have hair or a neck). It's not long before strange things start happening. The sound of running and screaming children, doors slamming in far off or nearby hallways, pianos playing... What's going on? It's hard to tell what's really happening from what isn't happening. Maybe someone who's also exploring has some idea.
[ The camera feed shows black fur covering half the screen, pressed directly into the lens. The rest is a joggling view of ceiling and wall, somewhere in the school. A mechanical voice speaks first: ]
Turn left, then take the second doorway on the right.
[ There's a huffing noise, something small but very close to the speaker. The tablet is laid on the ground, and a black cat's face comes into view. It has the most remarkable purple eyes, and instead of meowing speaks in perfectly understandable, slightly British English. ]

The cat creeps through the school, keeping to the walls and hiding in shadows. It doesn't do much good, but it's instinct, and that makes it somewhat calming at least.
The sound of running feet fills the hall and he turns a corner. Mistaking the mortal in his path for a ghost, he hisses and arches his back. He may be small, but his claws are sharp and he is willing to fight.
*He doesn't notice the cat at first. Its been so long since he's seen any animals (except Mochi, but he still wasn't sure what to make of that cat) he doesn't even think to look so low for one. But the hissing definitely catches his attention and he spins to face the cat, tensing up as he does so.
This cat looks much less friendly than the other one. Is it also a prisoner here or some sort of anomaly? He doesn't know, but he's not going to take his chances. Keeping an eye on the feline he opens his bag and digs inside. He should be able to get his knife before it gets to him.*
[ He probably won't be comforted when he realizes the cat has unnatural purple eyes - assuming that registers as unnatural to someone like Brian.
He has a moment to observe as the boy digs through his bag, and considers. An experienced fighter wouldn't have to look for his weapon, and the monsters here don't need them. A ghost after all, then? If it intends to attack he can certainly outrun it. ]

If the cat can talk then surely it can read, right? He's not really grasped that not being able to read is a thing anyway. So he scribbles out a note in response and crouches down to hold it out to the cat.
(I don't know this game, but seeing you mention Pounce on a TDM in the obscure books thread, how could I not reply thusly?)
Velsper drew to a stop, seeing another black cat in front of him. Um... yeah. Him. We'll go with him. He had decided to still think of himself as a him,a nd other than some ribbing from Keiichi and the stupid Goddesses, he hardly even thought about the fact that as a cat... he was technically female.... until he saw a Tom that didn't quite feel mortal, normal. Felt... not quite like a Goddess... but there was a disquieting similarity there. Well, he could play with this... see where it would go. He spent a lot of time with Belldandy and the freeloading goddesses, so that should mask his demonic aura, as should his cat form. None of the Goddesses knew he remembered being a Demon or having his magic until he spoke. So he should be fine. And his familiar had been hosted by a Goddess, so should still have some of Belldandy's goodness.
So he shouldn't read as Demon, he hoped. Saddly, he would read as female. Which could be uncomfortable. But he needed to check this situation out.
White tipped tail swishing, he stalked over and sat in front of the other black cat, then washed a paw. He was disgusted at himself for acting like a cat, but he needed to see if the other cat was aware that he was more than he seemed....

The finer distinctions across universes are complicated, to put it lightly, but the Cat can see clearly that this other is neither mortal nor god. She has a touch of the Gods to her, but she certainly isn't another constellation. He would know.
He made himself relax, though his tail remained low and still. He wasn't ready to let this creature pass simply because it could look innocent. Any cat was capable of that, mortal, immortal and god alike.
"So you do speak," he/she said blandly, licking the paw once more, before setting it down. "Are you the one who brought me here then?"
Of course he wasn't Clearly this was some new game of Hild's to combat her irritating boredom; or maybe even revenge for the fact that she lost in the race to Belldandy while flying on his own Gluhende Herz. Sure, Velsper could have told her that she should have picked a shorter course, but he truly had thought that even Belldandy couldn't have beaten his broom. Of course, if he had been riding it... wow to race her himself...
But that was neither here nor there. Here was a magical tom that he needed to get information on, to figure out how to break the spell that sent him here. He wondered what curse he'd have to take on this time. Blast Hild anyway.
The end of his tail flips from side to side in mild interest. He sits himself down comfortably. but ready to move if he needs to.
"Of course not. I do not interfere in the affairs of mortals, or lesser immortals." He does meddle, of course, but he's strictly forbidden to interfere.
Oh he puffed up at that, fur on end, standing tall, tail up and bristled. "I am no lesser immortal!" he hissed. And.. then realized his mistake. Well curse him anyway!
"What.... mage?" What the demon was a mage? "And why would I want humility? Nothing wrong with knowing how awesome I truly am," he said, puffing out his best a bit.
"The one who laid the curse." Given, it could have been a god, but Pounce can't imagine which god would care enough. The Trickster, perhaps, on a whim. This would be very like him.
His whiskers twitch, a barely restrained laugh. He just stares at the Demon for a long moment. He has met some idiotic creatures in his many lifetimes, but this is simply too much.

He has no idea what's a normal eye color or not. Some of the people in Norfinbury don't help with that.It spoke, that (hopefully) meant it could be reasoned with. He relaxes slightly and pulls a notebook and pencil out of his bag instead of the knife.
