Network Prompts
ONE: BUMP IN THE NIGHT
It's dark out, and congratulations - you're inside! What's not inside, you might ask? Monsters. Shadowy monsters that have surrounded whatever house you've taken shelter in. They can't get in... or can they? From time to time, the doors and the walls creak as if under an unbearable pressure.

Who can sleep when it's like this? Maybe you should take to the network to find a distraction. Or maybe someone has advice for getting rid of those things.

TWO: BRING OUT YOUR DEAD
We mourn the loss of those who have died in the time between the last announcement and this one:

...is that your name on that list? It might be. Maybe you should let the others know you're not actually dead. Or, you know, if you happen to spot the name of someone you know and love on there, it might be time to ask around and see if anyone knows what happened to your dearly departed...

Action Prompts
THREE: KYRIE ELEISON
You've found yourself in a small chapel, complete with bolted-down pews, an altar devoid of symbols, and stained glass windows depicting various saints. It's quiet... one might even say dead quiet. Which is a really awful pun to be making, considering if you follow the stairs down to the basement you'll find a morgue.

Explore to your heart's content, but you'll be forced out at 7 PM. Hopefully you don't find any unfortunately familiar faces among the dead.

FOUR: LIGHTS OUT
Against all odds, you've managed to make it to shelter for the night. You pull the door shut behind you and turn to look at your surroundings - and that's when you see it. A ... person. Is it a person? It's hard to tell, because a moment later, you're plunged into darkness.

...better hope that's another unfortunate visitor to Norfinbury you've been locked in with, and not something more threatening.

One - video @lordmikk

How is a gentleman suppose to sleep with all this noise? It's cold enough to want and while the wind isn't particularly bad tonight the scratching and creaking is enough to keep me up. At least I'm use to the wind. [There's a single match lit against the edge of a cigarette and while it is one of the last ones he has he needs something to calm his nerves. Tired and worn it is showing on his smooth and Portuguese features.] It would be better if I had company.

Four: Prose or Action is fine either way
He was running late tonight. There had been something that had caught the noble's eye and in his need to discover something fresh he had spent a good portion of the remaining time digging in the snow. It had been nothing but a broken mirror and not perhaps a buried cabinet along with it from his knowledge of vanities containing items within. All in all the moment had been enough to entice him in forgetting the current time. After being in this wretched place for over two weeks he should know better than to stop during late hours to look at anything.

So here he was barging into the nearest shelter mere seconds before lockdown and while consideration should be taken as to whether or not it was already occupied it did little to stop him from closing the door behind him in just enough time to watch the light from outside disappear all together. Though... he's not alone and he can barely make out something or someone within that darkness.

With his back pressing more firmly against the door and a shard from that broken mirror sliding from his coat pocket into his hand his numb fingers twitched in anticipation of a fight whether it was coming or not. His voice was calm despite that feeling and confident to back his own words, "I know you're there and I am armed. There's no need to be shy..."

At least Kanda was used to travelling. Doesn't mean he has to like his situation, but at least he was used to it. The piles and feet of snow, the bitter cold? It was something he could live without. Actually, this entire place was something he could live without, but it looked like he didn't have much choice but to search for a way out. The weird golem thing he was given occasionally beeped and told him things (like hell he knew how to use it), but beyond that that seemed to be the only form of communication that he had. He was running low on rations, too.

Being night time, the golem-thing had told him to seek shelter, so he did. It didn't seem like anyone else was around, either. Maybe then he could sit and try and warm up a little with a little fire. Perhaps. He had been collecting scraps of papers and twigs while searching outside, after all. Might as well put them to use.

Too bad for him that the moment he settles and gets even a spark going, someone else is barging in and blowing out the fire he was trying to start, throwing the room back into darkness. Oh for fuck's sake. Kanda's scowling at his pile of papers and sticks before he's looking up toward the door. He hadn't seen who it was, but that voice strikes a familiarity that he'd hope to never cross here.

Tyki Mikk. He didn't have Mugen on him, unfortunately, nor could he conjure another one with his blood (that was a painful experiment). He didn't have any other weapon on him, either. A swordsman without a sword, almost like a fish caught out of water. Except being without a weapon had never stopped him from fighting. He's sitting there for a long moment as Tyki's eyes start to adjust to the darkness. Oh, this will be good. Survival be damned, here.

It's only so long, though, before he finally lets out an amused snort. "As if you know how to fight with anything beyond your stupid butterflies." Sup, Tyki. You've locked yourself in shelter with an Exorcist.

He hadn't even seen the fire from the way the world outside was still somewhat lit upon his arrival. Now with the lights out and the darkness setting in he could barely make out where everything was. His eyes were already adjusting to the light and while he had no idea any semblance of a fire was going to be attempted he knew that he was very cold. His coat was made for a finer cold air and not a horrid one such as this.

That glass shard was settled more in his hand and while he didn't have his powers Kanda Yu was very wrong. He was a brawler and knew how to fight hand to hand if necessary. His Tease and dark matter helped as a decent shield against Innocence. "Oho, a useless man cannot claim to know the finer details of fighting without his weapon either. Do you even have it?"

It was absolutely blistering outside. Even his trench coat, as heavy as it was, couldn't keep him very warm at night. He needed to actually take care of himself, now, and not just shrug at the world and its consequences anymore. He couldn't afford to. Besides, one little fire served as a multi-purpose heat source and light source. It would have allowed him to search this shelter for anything good.

Tyki look at who you're even talking to. He was born within the confines of the Order, of course he knows how to fight without his Innocence. Not that neither of them know both are without their specialty. "Whether or not I have Mugen is irrelevant."
prazerbutterfly: (zpost exo - let's play a game)

[personal profile] prazerbutterfly 2015-12-24 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
"So you don't have it..." he said with layered confidence and snark. It was less of a question and more of a probing response to weed out the real answer.

It allowed him to peel himself from the door now that some warmth was back in his legs and he made sure his steps were as quiet as they could be. With the wind howling at the door he didn't have to worry about those nice shoes of his making too much noise. Of course, he could always kill Kanda and take his. Exorcists were made to travel long distances.

"Are you deaf?" Kanda scoffed, his azure eyes piercing and keeping watch of the Noah. Sorry Tyki, he's not planning on giving a straight answer. Well, not intentionally anyway. Not that it particularly matters, considering Kanda would fight regardless if that's what Tyki's intentions are.

Wow excuse you his boots are very expensive and they're his, you snob. Kanda's naturally tense with Tyki literally lurking in the dark, likely predictably making his way behind him, but lets the Noah think he's got an edge as he's moving to try and start the fire again. His gloves could only warm his hands so much, after all, as they cut off in the middle of his palm.

Go on, Tyki. He dares you to try something.

"No, just hearing more than I need to." He knows the other is just as much of a fighter even without his sword as he's seen others take a punch or two from the swordsman.

They would be his if Kanda died. He'd take them and hold onto them until he found a better pair. Behind would be a better option as his eyes adjust to the darkness. He was a dirty player and Tyki gambled with every option he ever made. The sound of rustling stops his train of thought and his advancement behind Kanda. Scraps of paper and various pieces of something else were being moved. He knew from his White days as a hobo how to start a fire and given Kanda's movements it was obvious what he was doing. Except the Exorcist was doing a poor job at creating one.

It's why Kanda will hear a click and a rattle of a few loose matches before feeling something ping off his head. "You seemed to lack the ability to warm anything up including this room so that should help."

"Tch." Kanda would say something else to that, but decides to just leave it be. The less they argue, the more likely this shelter remains standing at day break. And what the hell Tyki, did you stalk him through that red light district or something? 8|

Too bad for you then that he's incredibly difficult to kill, even without his healing. He's spent his entire life doing nothing but fighting, there pretty much was nothing else for him. Go on, keep sneaking behind him while he's "fiddling" with his sticks and papers. He's silently grabbing hold of the sharpest stick he has, just in case Tyki actually does attack him from behind. Beyond that, yeah, everything else needed adjusting. While he was used to traveling, he wasn't used to improvised traveling to this degree. Hell, his runaway gig with Johnny was the most 'informal' he's ever had to be - even then, he still had a warm roof over his head.

He's tensing more when he hears that click and rattle, gripping the stick more like a blade before turning around. Yeah, totally about to stab you with a stick as he's looking down at what had hit him in the head. There's a cautious hand moving down to the box of matches, letting his fingers run over it. "Why should I believe that these are what you say they are."
prazerbutterfly: (zpost exo - too happy)

[personal profile] prazerbutterfly 2015-12-27 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Tyki snerks at such distrust and it is given with proper reason. It was true in reasoning that if they at least behaved right now unlike their previous meeting that this place would remain standing. Fighting and making it worse would cause whatever was outside to come inside or through whatever hole they put into it. He might've stalked him in a lot of places given time. Innocence was his real goal with a perk of having something fun and actually challenging to fight. His power often made most encounters dull and boring.

There were ways even with both of them limited to what they could fight with and with Kanda reaching down to grab the box of matches he threw over Tyki took that opportunity to close the distance between them. He was right there now next to him and within striking distance for the both of them. It let the tension build and the arc of a possible fight come into play. He wouldn't strike first. No, he'd rather the other did in order to goad him into a situation he could taunt.

He wasn't stupid enough to give him all the matches and had dumped the rest into his pocket. Just throwing one match would be equally stupid and hard to find in the dark. He had allowed Kanda to have at least two in case he screwed up lighting it. "Feel them for yourself or are your hands so unused except to touch your sword?" It's almost sounds like he's implying something else.

Extreme distrust that Kanda's way on edge right now. He wasn't Allen — there was no reason for him to give Tyki the benefit of the doubt even in their current situation. Fight would certainly make it worse and though he barely knew Tyki, he knew enough that the Noah would likely take advantage of this darkness in whatever way he could. Probably a good thing that he didn't have Mugen then. Though, his Innocence was also coursing through his veins. Tyki would have to kill him to get rid of it all.

Oh Tyki. Tyki Tyki Tyki, doing that is only going to get you a a very sharp stick aimed for your throat. Kanda wasn't going to strike first either, sorry. Though it's just oh so tempting to push it right through his neck. It would certainly be satisfying, that was for damn sure.

He's keeping the stick where it is against his tender neck, azure eyes shining in a narrow glare in the dark. He's briefly - very briefly - looking down at the box of matches he was thrown and opening it, then back up at Tyki.

Sorry, was there innuendo in that mockery? It totally went over his head. (:D) "If you want a fire, then you'd better back off."
prazerbutterfly: (zpost exo - uwah~ so hot)

[personal profile] prazerbutterfly 2015-12-30 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't any different from having Innocence pointed at him at this very moment. He was very normal and very susceptible to being harmed as any other human or creature in this snowed in town. So when that sharp stick is lifted in the darkness his hand is moving up reflexively. No Dark Matter appears in his hand but that shard of glass is held tightly against his hand. It doesn't get very far and he actually lowers it with a sly smile spreading across his lips.

"I want the fire and I don't think backing off would be in my favor. You see, I want to be just as warm as you do and I would prefer if you lit it already. I understand if you don't know how..." Allen would at least be willing to banter back at him. The snark was wasted on the swordsman and yet he couldn't help himself. He wasn't in any real mood to spar right now.

As it shouldn't be right now. Kanda intended it that way, even if he didn't have Mugen on him. The lack of Dark Matter on Tyki's hand is definitely noted, and he can't help but narrow his eyes as that stupid smile graces Tyki's lips. That stupid snark of his is only going to get an irritated shove from Kanda to make Tyki give him some damned space.

"I said back off, Noah." Jeez, just because he hasn't done it yet doesn't mean he doesn't know how. He'd just rather have the space so, you know, he can actually use both hands. No way in hell was he going to pull the stick away from Tyki's throat while the Noah was still too damn close for comfort.

It was a little sad considering the situation. Were this a woman or someone of notable taste he might've obliged to their every request in doing what was needed to make them comfortable. It was his role as a gentleman and with no need to kill anyone despite sheer boredom the cold made him more lazy than he wanted to admit.

Right now in this place and time with this person it just made him want to taunt, tease and beckon the Exorcist into trying anything. That general shove touched him easily and while he hadn't moved due to his reflex on not having to he had not moved as well as not to give Kanda a single inch of room. Except without powers and without his feet braced he actually staggered back a few steps and grinned.

No, no, no. Calm down. Mask into a pleasant smile. A fight would certainly warm him up but wear him out. A fight would be more beneficial after hours. "All brute and no brains. Such a brute to consider I may not want to fight at all." Right now. "But it is natural for someone like you to not even think."
beanstalk: art by <user name=1529296 site=pixiv.com> (Default)

[personal profile] beanstalk 2016-01-01 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, okay, he might look like one and all but he most certainly was not a woman. God, who knows how many people he had to gleefully punch in the face for making that mistake while he and Johnny roamed the red light district looking for the beansprout. That certainly almost permanently put him in a bitter mood then.

It was unfortunate that Kanda was relatively easy to taunt and fall for it. Especially when he was simply in a mood, as he was right now. Of course, it didn't help matters either that this Noah has barged in on him blindly. Kanda's pulling back though as Tyki staggers away from him.

"For someone who doesn't want to fight," Right now, anyway. "you have a piss poor way of showing it." Also, the fact that Kanda was actually able to push Tyki back isn't missed. Coupling it with the lack of Dark Matter from earlier and Kanda's quickly putting two and two together, which just gets him to smirk. Though he doesn't have Mugen, it looks like Tyki was in a more unfortunate situation regarding his abilities.

He doesn't care to address that jibe at him, though. That would only make matters worse. Instead, he's opening the match box and taking out one of the sticks and striking it against the side. Oh look at that it lights up after a couple of strikes. He's holding it for a moment before tossing it right into the pile of sticks and papers.

Oh look at that. He made a fire. He's still got that sharp stick, though. Pointy and ready to stab if need be.
prazerbutterfly: (malicious grin)

[personal profile] prazerbutterfly 2016-01-01 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
At least he's not treating him like a woman. It would be odd even for Tyki to do something like that. He prefered his women to be actual women with beautiful bodies and long curves. Then again, with the way that most women hid behind perfumes, makeup and large clothes only he truly ever got to see them when they were exposed and laying naked beneath him indulging in what only pleasure could give through their bodies or... something as simple as sneaking out or being naughty when their father had already said no.

He knew how to court ideals and situations. He knew how to turn a bad thing into a good one and he knew well how to change something into something else profitable. He was not the brains of their family and only the dutiful 'son' that played the part. Underneath was a monster that indulged in what his noble side could not. Which is why he's trying to stay calm right now.

At the sign of the fire roaring to life his eyes lift towards the stick and then straight up at Kanda's own smirking face. It was then that the swordsman would see those golden eyes and that umber grey skin on full display. He wasn't hiding at all as with only him there was no need to use his glamour.

Though he is sitting down and claiming the spot in front of him near the fire. Even those white gloved fingers are spreading out over it to warm them, "Ah, it seems you can light a fire after all."

Thank god, because that would certainly be awkward as fuck. And also an easy way to rile Kanda up, but Tyki had other ways of doing so if he truly wanted. Which he can tell that the Noah was tempted to right now, but given their situation it was best if they were civilized, albeit strained.

Kanda's frowning as Tyki makes a point to sit where he had been, staring down at the Noah with a scowl. Of course he was going to do that to be the dick that he was. His grip momentarily tightens around the stick he's holding, tempted to just kick or shove the Noah aside again but with a fire going, that wasn't going to accomplish anything.

Taking a deep breath, Kanda's moving to the opposite side of the fire and taking a seat, shifting some of the sticks and papers to add a little more fuel to the fire. Resist the temptation to fight. It's not worth it.
prazerbutterfly: (just a sip)

[personal profile] prazerbutterfly 2016-01-02 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
It would be extremely awkward to flirt with the enemy even if it was thrilling. Except Kanda just wasn't his type and the complete wrong gender.

Civilized was straining it entirely as Tyki was holding his hands over the fire and allowing the warmth to touch his gloves. It was hot and definitely something he shouldn't do for long but to feel such warmth even if a little pained made the moment better. If only he could lay down and get some sleep by its gentle touch. That is if a certain Exorcist wasn't in the room with him. It was amusing alone to see the other so calmed. To want to rip at those seams holding back the assassin was a thought.

Then again, this fire was rather nice. He was going to dig his hand into the bag he was carrying earlier and pull out some discarded papers and one set of crackers he had found. He'll open the pack with his fingers and sigh at the light wafers within. It was no steak and definitely no wine. It would barely fill his stomach like a sandwich would for a snack. It was so worth not fighting right now as if to indulge in this small little pleasure.

Try not to stare as he savors the saltiness as if to make it last longer. Totally normal.

No fucking thank you stick to your side of the goddamn shelter. If he had something to mark the room with he would because yes, while it is childish to a degree it would also make sure they also stayed relatively civil, save for snarking at one another. Though some the break of dawn that won't matter anyway. Kanda would be long gone.

It was definitely a strained silence between them. Think and heavy in the air as Kanda resisted the urge to fidget with Tyki sitting across from him. His distrust of the Noah wouldn't allow him to relax, seeing as if he did, no doubt would Tyki take advantage of it.

So when Tyki opens the package of his ration, it seems at least ten times louder than it actually was. Oh, he'll stare for a moment alright. Then he just resists the urge to roll his eyes at how the noble was eating it as if there was something to savor.
prazerbutterfly: (zpost exo - too happy)

[personal profile] prazerbutterfly 2016-01-03 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
If Kanda marked the sides of the shelter in which Tyki couldn't cross he'd likely find some way to continue to cross it just to annoy Kanda. Oops, his foot slipped. Oh, did he fall asleep on the wrong side? It would be a game to him just to rile the other up. A fight was going to break out eventually when they were both warmed and ready to go.

Don't fidget. It would be far too cute for an Exorcist to do so with him there. He'd want to prey on it. He's trying to be good even if Exorcists had a way of bringing out what was natural inside of him. Not to mention Kanda would be easier to kill right now if he had his powers.

Crinkling and crunching getting on Kanda's nerves? Too bad. He's going to keep doing it as he opens each and every little package inside that big package.

Honestly, he wouldn't doubt if Tyki decided to do that if he had marked the room. Good thing he didn't plan on staying; if Tyki wanted to, that was fine. Kanda wasn't going to help him with anything. A fight was for sure going to break out eventuality, the only question was when it was going to. It would certainly warm them both up from the biting cold.

He's antsy and restless and irritated. Of course he's going to fidget a little. Prey on it though and he can't promise that he'll remain civil and composed. Nor could he promise that his new pointy stick won't get shoved right into his head.

Wow what a waste of rations if you're going to eat it all, Tyki. But thankfully Kanda's just busying himself with the fire and doing his best to ignore Tyki and all of the irritations that come with him.
