Network Prompts
ONE: LIKE A MOTH TO A FLAME Something about the light of the tablet just seems so alluring. You feel compelled to it, checking the network every free moment, and getting agitated when you can't; you need to talk to people, you need to talk to them now, and hopefully they'll actually respond. Maybe others are having similar attachment problems...
Only one way to find out.
TWO: CAN WE GET ANOTHER LIFELINE OR TWO? So that's it. You're stuck. Maybe there's some kind of a coded message you simply can't decipher. Maybe it's as simple as something's blocking your way and you've got a few tools scattered around, but you can't figure out how to use them to solve whatever puzzle is keeping you from progressing. Or maybe it's something else entirely. Either way, you have no idea how to get around it.
Luckily for you, there's a whole network full of helpful - or maybe unhelpful - souls. Perhaps it's time to ask for some assistance? Someone else is bound to have some kind of insight.
Action Prompts
THREE: SWING BATTER BATTER SWING BATTER BATTER SWING The toy store is nice and cozy, even though sometimes it feels like the dolls are watching you. So you've stayed here for just a little too long, and you're starting to notice... things. But that's just your imagination, right? They can't actually be watching you. They can't actually be moving, either. That door opening? Those footsteps? Maybe they're just a figment of your imagination.
...or maybe they're not. Maybe you should take a baseball bat to whoever that is and find out.
FOUR: A FATAL FUGUE Sunset is fast approaching. You can see some buildings up ahead - if you hurry, you'll make it indoors just in time. But wait! Do you hear someone calling for help and feel compelled to investigate? Do you feel a debilitating headache coming on? Or do you suddenly get a really, really bad feeling about actually walking through those doors?
If you don't snap out of it, it could be deadly. Luckily, there's someone already in that house that might be able to drag you to safety, with or without your approval.
[ She knows what this place is like then... good. That made matters much easier. The cold was already starting to get to him, he'd imagine she wasn't much more content about it. ]
I wont ask what you just experienced, I'm sure you know how this place works as well as I.
[ Kain tries to keep close, it's certainly... strange to be around people again but he'd had no choice this time. He couldn't have left her for dead. He was going to make sure what just happened wouldn't happen again. For a few moments longer he falls silent while leading the woman back to the house, then... ]
[She nods; she does know how this place works. It's unpleasant at the best of times, when it's not actively trying to kill all of them. Aerith has found relief in companionship over time, with all sorts of people, unlikely friendships.
They walk back towards at a good pace - Aerith can't help herself, keeps close, trying to shield herself from the wind as they walk, her hand curled tightly around his arm.]
I'm Aerith. It's nice to meet you, Kain.
[Thankfully, it doesn't take long for them to be inside the house. She shivers a little even as the door closes behind them, shielding them from the worst of the cold. Comparatively, it's almost cozy inside.
The strange feeling that filled her whole mind earlier, compelling her to walk further away from the house, seems to have left her entirely now. Curse this place and the strange tricks it plays on people. Aerith is determined to put it out of her mind.]
So, I've been looking through houses quite a bit recently, and...[Smiling, she produces a small pack of matches from the inside pocket of her coat, holding it up with two fingers.] Know how to build a fire with what we got around here?
[ Kain kept quiet after this, up until entering the house again. He's certainly happy to be back inside, blue eyes scanning windows to glance outside again, see if anyone else should approach. Once he's stood there for a little Kain leaves the windows and returns to scavenging around the room as he'd been doing before he noticed Aerith outside the window. ]
For better or worse fire seems to be my specialty.
[ He didn't glance back at Aerith, pulling open drawers for anything that could be used, for really any purpose. Kain didn't have only himself to worry about anymore. ]
And two years on a mountain doesn't hurt one's ability in such regards, either.
Two years on a mountain? [Aerith falters, still holding the matches in her hand. Kain's not looking at her.] Alone?
[She can't even imagine. She hates the mere idea; Aerith does better with friends and people to protect and help than she does alone. She can defend herself well enough, but she's always had people in the back of her head.]
[ Kain continues scouring through the drawers until he finds some scraps of cloth. He almost wanted to keep looking, find something else, something that didn't have as many uses, like paper, but this would have to do. He drops the cloth on a nearby table and glances around. He'd still rather use almost anything else for kindling. Cloth was a luxury he had on Mount Ordeals only when Baronian supply drops would occur, he couldn't depend upon those here. ]

It... is a long story.
