To say Frisk loves Toriel is an understatement. Frisk hasn't had a stable parental figure for some nearly six years, more if you include the Resets. And now they have one who adores them as much as they adore her? Like honestly Frisk ca be up to interpretation a lot of ways, but one of the more solid facts we get from the game is that Frisk seems to resonate with Toriel pretty quickly. Seems to resonate with having a mom who loves them as much as Toriel does.

That being said, there are plenty of things that sort of build a wall between them, most of them based on the Resets, Frisk's experiences during them, and Asriel. And some - not all but some - probably should come down before they become the foundation of something bigger. At least that's kind of my hope? I don't want to overwhelm either of them but I can't help but think Frisk hiding all the bad things that happened to them and around them wouldn't end well in the long run. If nothing else, it's way too much for a kid to shoulder by themselves.

The problem with all this being, it's stuff Frisk will go to great lengths to keep hidden. They don't want Toriel to know about the resets. The not-so-great runs. They absolutely don't want Toriel to ever find out about Asriel. Well no scratch that, they kind of do, but Asriel himself kind of made them promise so it's a complicated situation and they'd rather she not find out now. It's mostly because they don't want to hurt her, but there is a very real part of them that is scared that they'll lose her somehow if some or all of the information comes to light.

In Snowblind, it's a bit more complicated still. Frisk's so relieved she's here and is actually trying to take better care of themselves so as not to worry her, but at the same time their stress levels have jumped a bit. It's a subconscious thing - not something they'd really be aware of. Most of the time, at least. Jack's recent threat has pushed it out into conscious levels, because between knowing them and Sans's conversation with them on Night 81, Frisk knows that if they were ever in danger Toriel and Sans would try to keep Frisk save over themselves, and that CANNOT be allowed. Because in the end, if Jack (or anybody) is moving for the kill, Frisk's still certain they have more chance of surviving because of how monsters are. And also because in the end, there's still that sense of "I'll always come back."

So... basically in the end, shit's complicated and will probably only get worse as they get closer to their teen years but they love Toriel so so so much. So much.

weh weh wehhhh. I will tl;dr back at you oocly now since I did IC earlier. DOUBLE DIPPIN' FOR U GORSE.

ONE DAY, we'll definitely have to deal with the resets. Getting it in chunks would definitely help Toriel wrap her mind around it more easily. Especially if Frisk openly states how much trouble it gives them. I am down to have it revealed over time between these two. Toriel would buckle up and deal with her confusion/panic whole heartedly if it meant making Frisk more comfortable.

Like I said above icly Toriel just... loves Frisk. So much. She can't see her life without her child in it now. She'll do anything in her power to make them feel happy and safe. She's afraid Frisk will get tired of her or leave her??? She just doesn't want that to happen. It scares the shit out of her. So these two are peas in a pod. Like GEEZE U TWO, you're both scared of the same thing.
