Network Prompts
ONE: WAKEY WAKEY You're drawn out of your slumber when your tablet emits an earsplitting SCREECH. No amount of shaking it or hitting it will get it to shut up for five whole minutes, but at the very end it cuts itself off what sounds like a piercing scream. Well, that was weird. Maybe you should check in on the network - someone might have an idea of what that was. Or maybe they'll be just as lost as you are. At least you can all be confused together...
TWO: DON'T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE... It's past curfew, and you've been locked in for the night. But for some reason, you just can't manage to get to sleep. Nightmares giving you grief? General insomnia problems? Well, at least you've got the network to keep you company. Maybe you can get someone to tell you a bedtime story.
Action Prompts
THREE: INCONVENIENCE STORE Congratulations, you've managed to stumble upon the Mallard River Market! But you're not alone. Among the shelves of junk food (just as well-stocked as you would expect from any normal store) you'll find one - or more! - other people there with you. Here's hoping you're not both after the same box of Frosted Toaster Pastries, because things could get ugly fast. Don't linger too long, either; at 7PM, you'll be compelled to leave whether you want to or not and will only have about an hour to find somewhere to take shelter...
FOUR: RUN RUN RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN It's late. It's cold. There's a bunch of snow around you and you can sort of make out vague shapes in the distance that might be buildings, but in these conditions it's hard to tell. Regardless of what they are, though, you're going to want to hustle - if it hits 8PM and you're still outside, you're not going to make it through the night. Perhaps that person up ahead can help you? Or - if you're already safe and sound - maybe you should head outside to get that poor soul struggling outside in to shelter before they freeze. Good luck!
[after she takes his tinderbox, she watches him slide down against the wall, all in a heap in that thick coat. She makes a "hm" sound at his words, in what she hopes is a reassuring way, then turns away from him, picks her hat up, and heads off to start a fire, as promised. Normally, she takes pride in how quiet and graceful her steps are, but there's snow stuck in her fur where her leggings don't shield it, and she stomps all the way into the living room to shake it off.]
[she'd already started putting kindling in the fireplace before her Rescue Adventure, and she's not new to flint and tinder, so with only a bit of a delay thanks to her shaking hands, she's sparked a small fire. She cups her hands around it and blows gently, deep in concentration, willing the little flame to catch.]
[The living room is depressingly bare: there's no couch, and only one lonely upholstered chair. The remains of an endtable sit piled beside the fireplace, with Freya's backpack next to it.]
[ To his credit, Link only takes a short time. It's warmer than outside in the house, true, but it's still cold and the snow clinging to his clothes doesn't help. Grunting, he hauls himself to his feet and starts to slop the clinging wet stuff off of him. When the worst of it was gone, he followed his saviour into the main room.
The fire is a welcome sight and he heads straight for it. In fact, he's so enamoured of the flames that he doesn't actually register what Freya looks like until he's taken a seat close by. It's only now that the strange gait and the odd shape click into his conscious awareness, and he frowns quite openly at her. It's not an angry frown - just one of curiosity.
And then, without any intended rudeness but with a flat bluntness that could be taken that way, he simply asks: ] What are you?
[she settles back into a proper sit once she's got the fire going, and she's busy with the little buttons on the side of one legging when he sits down next to her and pops The Question. She pauses and looks up sharply.]
Straight to the point, aren't you? Tch. I'm the person who's saved your life, but you mean more than that, don't you.
[she shakes her head at him, but there's warmth in her voice.]
[ She moves sharply, but her voice is comforting and so Link doesn't bother to react to it. He's too tired to be tense. All he does is nod in answer, wondering what in the name of Farore a 'Burmecian' was. Other than Freya, that was.
Actually, that was an answer. She was a Burmecian, so that's what one was. He nods again. And, since fair was fair, he gave her what he was too. ]
I'm a - Hylian.
[ His natural reaction was still to say 'Kokiri'. Ten years of your life was a long time to believe you were one thing. Finding out you were another didn't mean it came easy.
[she blinks in surprise at his ears, and stares at him openly. The hypocrisy of staring at him when she just got kind of annoyed at him for doing the same thing doesn't even dawn on her.]
Oh! I... I could have sworn you were a human. I've... never heard of a "Hylian" before.
[she realizes she's staring, and blinks down at the floor and then back up, snapping out of it. She gives him a small, blink-and-you-miss-it smile.]
Well, first time for everything. Well met, Link—I'm Freya.
[ 'Human'? Oh yeah, those were the people that lived in Castle Town and Kakariko Village but who didn't have the pointy ears, right? Link knows that they look alike, and with his ears covered, he can understand. He just shrugs in response, but gives a ghost of a smile when she gives her name too. ]
Freya.
[ He dips his head, then shuffles a little closer to the fire. His throbbing fingers feel even worse in the warmer air, so he rubs them together gently, trying to work the pain out. ]
[she nods to his thanks, then, remembering something, reaches next to her and then holds out his tinderbox for him to take.]
Mm. —Oh, here's your tinderbox back. You'd better hang onto this—it's a rare find.
[she tries not to stare, but she does look at the way he's sitting, and how he's rubbing his hands. The poor kid's freezing; she thinks of the blanket in her pack, and wonders if he's got anything warm and dry with him.]
[ He reaches out to take it, glad that she'd offered it back before he asked. And she hadn't even taken too long to do it. Considering she'd just saved him, she could have asked for it as a reward. He'd have given it, albeit reluctantly. It really was a lucky find. ]
Thanks.
[ He says it, pauses a moment, and then sneezes with a sharp suddenness that makes him all but jump with the force of it.
Urgh.
He starts to peel off the coat. Warm is good, but wet doesn't lend well to that. His under layers aren't as soaked through. He'll shiver a little longer. ]
[ No dry clothes, but he's got something to wrap himself in. He nods to her question but doesn't do more than peel off the outer layers, staying in his white undershirt and leggings. It's icy cold without the layers, but he can deal with it. The outer layers get placed near the fire, and Link's wrapping himself in his own blanket. ]

You'd better get out of your wet things, or that chill's going to get worse. ...Those boots, too. There's probably snow in them.
[just like there was snow covering every other part of this kid. She leans over to dig the blanket out of her pack even as she asks:]
Got anything dry with you?

Sorry, [ He says, in regards to stripping down. ]
