For #1 and the free the soul mantra thing, I just wave that off to the virus itself not only messing with processing speeds in the brain, but doing something else more specific to Free The Soul's religious goals. That makes more sense to me, anyway. Alice had similar crazy talks that broke character, after all. But I guess we won't figure that out until June comes around.

In regards to #2, I'd definitely agree about "he wasn't supposed to be there" being a total lie, just like Dio "wasn't supposed to be there". Akane knew they'd be there, after all, so technically they did belong there, but for different purposes they had to believe that they weren't supposed to be there. Like I think Akane knew Tenmyouji would bring Quark along regardless of whether she asked them both to come or not, and that if she asked for Quark, Tenmyouji might have a greater chance of going "no fucking way." THAT'S MY THOUGHT ANYWAY.

ok anyway back to asking you too many questions:

Does he ever wish he could have been with his real parents?

What sort of things from a pre-apocalyptic world would he want to see or hear or experience the most, just from what he might have heard about from scavenging/reading/whatever?
