Stein actually thinks Rhys is a pretty decent guy, if a bit on the flaily and impulsive side. He was willing to risk everything on a stupid plan just to gather more information on the Admin and their situation here, and he's apparently the sort of person who inspires loyalty in everyone around him. Stein does feel pretty bad about the whole lobotomy thing, and is probably going to try his best to make it up to Rhys somehow.

Handsome Jack AI is an asshole and Stein regrets not ripping him out of Rhys' head when he had the chance.
