So Ecks actually quite likes House. Sure, he's kind of a dick and she's pretty sure he's going to blackmail her one of these days for one reason or another because that's apparently what he does, but on the other hand he generally answers her questions about life, the universe, and everything. The one thing she actually misses about home is the lessons, and House kind of stands in for that by talking science to her and setting up interesting experiments for her to try. She wants that sweet sweet sciencedad praise, but she's also willing to argue with him.

She's still frustrated by his propensity for dying, because she honestly does not understand his depression or suicidal ideations. Her view is that life is brutal but you just accept that and live it as best you can, so she's still coming at this from an angle of "wow, sciencedad is really incompetent at survival," with the assumption that survival is actually his goal at all times. Going along with his experiments is partly Ecks liking experiments, partly Ecks liking to follow orders, and partly Ecks acting a bit like a cat bringing its owner dead mice because it thinks he's just really bad at hunting -- if she gives him information, maybe he'll stop dying while trying to get information.

It does not appear to be working.
