Oh gosh, see the problem is Kesara tries not to trust people too quickly, but it's like Alfie found all her buttons and STEPPED on them. He's British, he's from London - that is cause for adoration. He's got this Air of Danger but she can tell he won't turn it on her. He's obviously very world-wise and has brilliant stories. And the Jewish thing, for her, is excitingly exotic since he is probably the first European Jewish person she'd ever known, so she knows he's not really quite a "sahib" but a bit of an outsider like her. So she basically thinks she's hit all the jackpots with him. And he likes her! INSTANT TERMINAL ATTACHMENT. Though it is of Kesara's patented sort, which means less clinging or feeling of protectiveness, and more just intense directed interest. Tell her everything and let her tell you everything. Let her impress you, Mr. Solomons.

The thing is she doesn't want to be that instattached. She wants to be careful and properly suspicious of this mysterious criminal fellow that she really barely knows. But it's hard okay. She's even worried about overcompensating, in a way that doesn't bother her with many other people, just in case she pisses him off somehow. WHAT A DILEMMA.
