Post top levels of your characters as they were when they were younger - it's up to you whether that means "when they were a kid", "six months ago", or something in between. Then tag around, either throwing kids together or throwing normally-aged current CR at people in order to "????" about how their friend/enemy/casual acquaintance is suddenly bitty.

Bit of a detour. Unavoidable. I don't like it any more than you do, but we'll have you back with your dad soon enough, eh?

[Okay, stranger danger is finally setting in. Big, bearded man with a Cockney accent... those are usually bad guys. He takes another step back from Alfie and nearly trips over his own coat. House finds his balance and sweeps that out of the way.]

You didn't answer my question. Who are you? [There's a pause before he adds a little grudgingly:] Sir.

[devoutish]

Alfie Solomons. I'm not gonna hurt you.

[He holds up his hands, and doesn't try to approach.]

[Actually providing an answer does get House to stop.]

Do you work with my dad? Or are you one of Mom's friends?

[devoutish]

Nope.

[That's a lie that would be very easy to get caught in - he knows nothing about House's parents. Better not to risk it.]

I don't know you or your family at all.

Then... why are we here together? And where are my clothes? Did we get kidnapped?

[It seems strange to leave him with some random guy's clothes and a stethoscope and so, so many bottles of pills.

[devoutish]

We did. Yeah. But we're working to escape, so keep your chin up, eh?

[rubikscomplex]

It's not down. [And he does look more suspicious and skeptical than outright scared.] Sorry, sir. [He doesn't sound particularly sorry for back-talking, more like this is something that he's expected to apologize for.]

How are we going to escape? I can help if you take me back to New Jersey.

[devoutish]

That'll be the plan. We've all got somewhere we'd rather be.

[Interesting that he wants New Jersey instead of wherever his dad is, though. Hmmm.]

[He considers it for a long moment.]

Okay. What can I do? I wanna help. Please.

[devoutish]

How good are you at gathering information? That is very important.

[He's banking on kid-House still having the same interests.]

[House puffs up.]

I'm really good at it. People don't pay attention to me unless I make them... except mom. [He loses some steam, but regains it a moment later.] I like reading, too. I can read the books that mom and dad read.

[devoutish]

Good. There's a lot to read, and to remember. You've got a good memory, yeah?

I remember everything important. [He says it with almost comical gravity.] And... I'm really good at getting into small spaces, places Dad says I shouldn't. You can't tell him, though. [This is added sharply, an edge of fear creeping in.] He's not allowed to know.
