TEST DRIVE MEME

If you'd like to apply to Snowblind and would like to test the waters first or get a sample set up for your application, this meme is for you! We've even provided some prompts for you to use if you want (but feel free to make up your own). Here's how it works.
✭ Reply to this entry with a character you're considering apping into the game. You can include the name of your character and the fandom in your subject line.
✭ Comment around to others on the meme, whether you're in the game already or not.
✭ Now you have a sample ready for your application!
✭ So go reserve and apply when reservations and applications are open.
✭ Seriously, do it.

Network Prompts
ONE: @XX_BLAZEIT69
You’ve just downloaded a brand new application that you found in a building to your tablet. It turns out it’s some sort of username assignment program. Using it allows you to select current active usernames and rename them into new ones that only you can change. But with great power comes great responsibility—will you use this new program to give people usernames they’d like in place of an unfortunate one they gave themselves before they realized it couldn’t be changed…or will you give them something you think is more fitting for them, flattering or otherwise?

TWO: CONTENT WARNING
It’s around the time that new arrivals should be appearing on the network, but you’re noticing a bit of a bigger influx than normal. When you click on one of the posts by one of them, you’re redirected to a flood of disturbing text and images that disappears completely once you manage to exit out—as if it had never been there in the first place. Maybe you should warn the others to be careful of what they click on. Or maybe you can discuss it with those who have already made the same mistake as you did. Perhaps you can set up a code system to differentiate the fake posts from the real ones.

Action Prompts
THREE: WALKING IN CIRCLES
You’ve been walking all day, tirelessly, but somehow, even though you’re sure you’ve been walking in a straight line you keep passing the same landmarks and coming back to the same house you started from. You’re not sure if it’s your imagination or if you’re actually getting turned around, but you’re determined not to stop until you’ve found a new place to sleep in. Unfortunately, the longer you try, the closer you get to lockdown. Maybe the one you’re traveling with will be able to help you get your bearings before you both freeze to death?

FOUR: TOPSY TURVY
It's past lockdown, and it should be a quiet and peaceful night - as quiet and peaceful as any night can get in Norfinbury, anyway. And you've even managed to find somebody to bunker down with! But about an hour or so into the lockdown, things start to seem just a little... off. Furniture you could swear was on one side of the room suddenly appears on the other. You might hear footsteps from up above you - even if there's no second floor. Or you might hear whispers, snatches of conversation just quiet enough to be unintelligible. Is your buddy messing with you? Or is this all just in your head?

[ Sam just sort of stares at Cecil, the words have clearly gone over his head. Still, he nods, hands on his hips. ]

Oh. Yes, exactly. What you said. About my.. what was it again? Flimsy meat body? I'll have you know that I'm not as flimsy as I look.

[ He puffs out his chest, as if that would somehow prove his point. ]

[He chuckles, the sort of chuckle that says a man is in on a dark joke that the other party is not privy to.]

Of course you're not.

[He looks up at the ceiling, where the shuffling and moaning is still going on.]

Of course you're not.

[ That sounds like a challenge. Sam looks around and decides to use the loveseat. ]

Could a flimsy guy do this?

[ With a little stretch first, Sam stoops down, grabs the bottom corner of the loveseat and then struggles to lift it. He manages to get it up a whole three inches before he drops it. What others would consider a failure he obviously sees as a glowing success. He grins looking back at Cecil. ]

Not so flimsy after all, huh?

How does that prove you're not flimsy?

[He raises both eyebrows in confusion and stands to move over to the loveseat and do the same thing, lifting it a small distance from the ground and then letting it settle again.]

I am very flimsy. My skin is made of such delicate material that even paper can occasionally slice through and reveal the sticky red secrets underneath. My bones do not always adequately protect the organs underneath, and my fragile system relies on outward input of resources such as oxygen to continue living at all.

Oh, I dunno. I've seen flimsy human bodies take a whole lot and come out just fine in the end. What about people who swallow swords? Or fire? Or people who sleep on beds of nails?

[ He sits, still trying to reach for something to continue his argument. ]

Or.. or! What about the people who are shot and live? All those fragile systems gettin stitched back together. I think it's humans who make other humans less flimsy.

[Cecil smiles brightly, warmly, like the sun over a baking hot desert landscape that cries out for some moisture. Any moisture.]

That's a beautiful sentiment, if only the world worked on beautiful sentiments. But we all know that the anomalies that wait for us out there, and even the ones that may even now be lurking above our heads, will shred through those sentiments as swiftly as they will shred through our flimsy bodies.
