Overseers have the wolfhounds like pets, except--except the Pendletons said the Overseers teach them to bite people's hands off. [Again, she looks at the edge of the wall where the misshapen shadow zipped away. It really didn't seem unfriendly. And it looked kind of soft, like a black dog, or maybe a large black cat.]
But I don't feel scared. I don't think it's a monster. The monsters here are scary, and they try to eat you, but this one hasn't yet. It rubbed on my leg like a cat. I don't think there's any cats here, though.
