Impression management meme!

This is a "how is my character coming across" meme. The idea is to have people describe your own character back to you, so you can get a sense of what impression they're making and how others perceive them - and hopefully see if they're coming across as you intend!

1. Comment with your character toplevel good etc.

2. Respond to other people's comments telling them how you, OOCly, perceive/would describe their characters. For example, "Robert Miller comes across as a huge jerk, I would describe him as a sadist, and I think he has a secret hatecrush on the admin".

3. This is not a crit or love meme - the idea is not to comment on people's playing, but to describe the impression you get from the characters' personalities. "X is really true to their canon portrayal!" = NO. "I really love X!" = NO. "X is a nice kid who loves robots and long walks along the snow" = YES GOOD.

4. Gain fascinating insights into how others view your character! Perhaps you never knew they come across as having a huge crush on the admin???

5. BONUS OPTION: Add/substitute your characters' IC impression of other characters. Be sure to state what is what, though!

6. Play nice, snowbos!

So nice. Zell is so nice. He's so freaking nice why are you so nice. And kind of a bit of a do first/think later type. But there's definitely this part of me that looks at that tattoo and is like "okay cool spry bro but whetted the Tragic Backstory part?" Because I know that's got to exist somewhere

Confused about being human and struggling with it a lot more than he lets on, I think. I feel like some of Beckett's curiosity is driven by this need to understand how Humans tick.

That said he's definitely shown this kind of...caring/parental/guardian sort of streak. It's kind of like that bit of House where you realize he's not 100% jerk but 99.99%; Beckett does have that part of him that even looks at his "enemy's" charge and sees a kid in danger and can have some amount of sympathy or concern.

The more I thread with him the more I learn!

Significantly more than meets the eye. Smart and determined and cunning, sometimes to her own detriment. She really wants to seem confident and works hard for it. But she's got this fragile side to her too that's really...very much hidden beneath this show of "I'm worth it!" And "I know I'm smart!"

Zach with an H

Zach comes across as a guy who gets in deep very quickly. He tries to do what's right, and he's very passionate, but sometimes he gets a bit in over his head. A look before he leaps kinda guy. He's very defensive of his friends and people close to him, even if that means he distances other people as a result.

This is mostly from watching his interactions with others, he hasn't distanced either of mine LOL

Alfie Solomons

Alfie comes across as someone ruthless, but someone who adheres to his own code of honor pretty strictly. He's got a bit of a sense of humor about him, too, and he's quite personable if you happen to be on the right side of him.

Bucky "bad decisions" Barnes

Steph thinks that Bucky is a generally decent guy suffering from some MAJOR mental health issues who hates her because.... she's not totally clear on why? She's pretty sure she deserved it at some point but feels like it's probably gotten a little overblown.

Alphonse Elric

Steph adores Al, of course. Even if he's just a kid (because hahaha she's so much older than him???) he's shown a lot of bravery, and a lot of determination and intelligence. Basically he impresses her more than most of the adults she's met in her life and she loves him a lot.

A lot of the time Brian kind of creeps me out. I hope this doesn't sound mean! I always understand what his posts say but something about the way his text is formatted and spaced always had the dual impact of giving me the heebie jeebies and also kind of confusing me enough to being like "what's going on here and what do I do?" It definitely gives me this sense that Brian wants to be left alone or is kind of intentionally isolating himself by using a difficult to understand texting pattern

Jim is so nice. He's just...he's just a good boy. He's a good egg. He tries hard. He's nice and friendly and compassionate. That's been my interaction and perception of him, every single time.

But when I say this is don't mean any of this in the naive way, I felt the need to add that. He's not stupid and I've never felt that? He's always come across to me add that really nice kind guy you know who also knows his stuff.

Jade Harley

Jade is a friendly person who knows what's right and isn't the least bit afraid to stand up for it. Steph has loads of respect for that. She's also clearly very smart and mature for her age and is generally just a dependable notdog.

Charlie strikes me as a dude who is trying his best to stay above water, but he keeps on getting himself into the worst situations. He's like, a magnet for them, which is not that surprising since he's got a bit of a no brain to mouth filter problem! As you know I also definitely thought he was younger than he is!

There's this thing about Charlie that I personally see - that he's getting himself into these situations but doesn't realise how bad they are until the last moment, when it's really bad. And then he freaks out, and then he gets mad. He pushes boundaries a lot.

I spy nice caring momma under that spy armor, Natasha. Specifically towards those she sees as vulnerable or in need. But at first glance or when she has her own defenses up, very much a calculating info-gatherer. Acquaintance of many but friend of few, in the sense that she's not going to burn bridges...but isn't going to be close with everyone either.

To me OOCly, what strikes me the most about Clint is his desire to do right by...basically everyone? He's part friend, surrogate dad, mother-hen, judge and jury, whenever whichever is needed. He wants to be there for everybody and it's so commendable of him, but let's hope he doesn't burn out by putting too much pressure on himself!

So from one or two interactions....Hange comes across as an overenthusiastic mad scientist. Who is probably very smart but is too busy seeming pretty crazy to really impress upon others the whole "very intelligent" piece.
