ONE: BUMP IN THE NIGHT It's dark out, and congratulations - you're inside! What's not inside, you might ask? Monsters. Shadowy monsters that have surrounded whatever house you've taken shelter in. They can't get in... or can they? From time to time, the doors and the walls creak as if under an unbearable pressure.
Who can sleep when it's like this? Maybe you should take to the network to find a distraction. Or maybe someone has advice for getting rid of those things.
TWO: BRING OUT YOUR DEAD We mourn the loss of those who have died in the time between the last announcement and this one:
...is that your name on that list? It might be. Maybe you should let the others know you're not actually dead. Or, you know, if you happen to spot the name of someone you know and love on there, it might be time to ask around and see if anyone knows what happened to your dearly departed...

THREE: KYRIE ELEISON You've found yourself in a small chapel, complete with bolted-down pews, an altar devoid of symbols, and stained glass windows depicting various saints. It's quiet... one might even say dead quiet. Which is a really awful pun to be making, considering if you follow the stairs down to the basement you'll find a morgue.
Explore to your heart's content, but you'll be forced out at 7 PM. Hopefully you don't find any unfortunately familiar faces among the dead.
FOUR: LIGHTS OUT Against all odds, you've managed to make it to shelter for the night. You pull the door shut behind you and turn to look at your surroundings - and that's when you see it. A ... person. Is it a person? It's hard to tell, because a moment later, you're plunged into darkness.
...better hope that's another unfortunate visitor to Norfinbury you've been locked in with, and not something more threatening.
Ellana could understand that, and not just because most people had no wish to be experimented on. She'd seen Dorian and his father, had heard Dorian's voice when he said his father had tried to change him. Her hand tightened in his. She wanted to prevent anything like that from happening to him here, but how could she when she couldn't even catch the ones giving injections? It made her feel helpless, and she hated that feeling.
"You staying alive is certainly on my list. For now, we just search for clues on why we're here, as well as supplies we can use."
"How fortunate. Staying alive was already on my to-do list." Dorian grinned at Ellana and squeezed her hand in return.
"I'll keep an eye out and share what I find with you. We can use these tablets for that, yes?" Though he suspected the motives of anyone who gave them means for communication. Controlling communication in order to listen in seemed like the most obvious reason.
"Yes, they allow us to talk to one another." She moved to pick hers up, closing her coat back around herself so only her arms stuck out. "Here; I'll show you." She pointed out the important features to know, showing how to search for a person through the contact list based on their username.
"It's just Lavellan for me, and others use part of their name too, but if it's something else entirely, you just have to make note of it so you can remember it."
"That seems easy enough." Dorian had spent a lot of time following scholars' work across multiple manuscripts where authorship was occasionally mentioned in the footnotes and sometimes just quoted wholesale. He had experience connecting text to personality and biases.
"Fascinating devices they've come up with," he murmured.
"They are. Useful, too." She set hers back down to provide them with light. "This place certainly isn't much like home. The people come from different worlds."
"By different worlds you don't mean like the Fade do you?" Dorian sighed a little. "People won't know to tremble when they hear your name?" He brightened on a thought. "Or mine?" Someplace where his family's influence hadn't reached might be a benefit.
"Not the Fade. And I definitely don't miss everyone knowing who I am." Trembling optional. But she cracked a smile at his realization and inclined her head.
"No one knows of Tevinter here. People can just get to know you for you, instead of what you could represent." And of course there was a bit of personal experience bleeding through her words. She was meeting people and trying to make herself useful here. People called her by her name, not her titles. Even back in the clan, some just called her First. But she can just be Ellana here. That didn't mean this place was suddenly nice, or anything beyond a terrible frozen wasteland of mystery. It was simply interesting to meet people from beyond Thedas.
People not knowing about Tevinter was both good and bad in Dorian's opinion. On the one hand, he still believed his country had great things to offer the world. On the other hand, if it meant fewer people spat at him, that would be a good thing. Not nearly enough to make up for the cold and wet but enough to make the idea of being stuck in the cold.
"A silver lining to the cloud of unnecessarily gloomy disaster." Dorian said sardonically.
"It's always good to find one, isn't it?" She was teasing too, but she did feel having him here was worth a true smile, at least. "Tomorrow, we'll meet up with Cullen again and go from there."
"That's why we don't put you in charge of morale." Dorian laughed. "Seeing Cullen will be good. As much as anything about being abducted to a city of snow and ice is good. Which isn't very much in case you were wondering." He remained leaning toward her, as happy to have a familiar face as she was.
"When I accepted the job, no one said I had to be," she returns, amusement in her voice. "Thank you for clearing that up. Here; I'll show you more about the tablets. Sometimes people find things they want to show others, and they send it, like a letter that comes to you instantly." She'll just carry on getting him familiarized with things, so he's as prepared as he can be.
