Network Prompts ONE: THE FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE Whether or not you were aiming for this to happen, you've ended up in Downtown's Toy Store for the night. Right away, it gives you a creepy sort of vibe. There's even a doll staring up at you from the doorway when you come inside, discarded and lonely on the floor. It has no eyelids or eyelashes, its too-lifelike eyes precariously stuck onto dark hollows. Its mouth a despondant, stitched-on frown. Ingoring it, though, nothing particularly odd seems to happen--at first. It isn't until you sleep when a sinking feeling jolts you from your slumber. It's not hard to figure out where the soruce of the unease is coming from: the doll from earlier is laying just inches away from your face. When you sit up, you realize that it's not the only one: every doll has moved from the shelves and surrounded your sleeping body in a neat circle. All of their eyes are sunken. All of their mouths are turned into frowns. Maybe you'll have an easier time getting back to sleep if you can find someone on the network to talk it out with. TWO: IT BLEEDS Something's wrong with the wallpaper in this house. You're not sure exactly what it is, but it makes your head dizzy to be around it for too long. If it's affecting you this badly, it's possible that other people might have the same problem in the future, so it would probably be a good idea just to take it down. Only, when you pull at the first piece, it's not just the wallpaper that pulls away from the wall...but the skin of your arm, which breaks open in a long scratch. It isn't deep enough to draw blood, but certainly enough to feel raw and uncomfortable. It would be a good idea to stop what you're doing and reach out for some medical advice. Action Prompts THREE: THE QUIET GAME You and your traveling compaion have found shelter at the library. It's a nice, spacious building with plenty of comforable places to sleep and books to occupy your time, so at first this seems like a fine place to spend your time. Only, you can't shake the feeling that someone else is here with you. And everytime you talk too loudly, a fierce shhh passes between your ears, passing a shiver down your spine. Eventually, you hear a slithering voice whisper no talking in the library, and a pinch stabs at the corner of your mouth. Your companion can hear it too...right? FOUR: PICTURESQUE Not too long ago, you found a jigsaw puzzle. The pieces were all stored in a plain box, so you weren't sure what the picture was meant to be. You've been having a slow night, so while your traveling companion tries to get some sleep, you decide to see if you can solve it. Only...you start to notice something familiar about the setting as it unfolds before you. Piece by piece, it becomes clear: it's something from home, something only you should know. You have to show your traveling companion--only when they go to look for themselves, all that's left is a square of white paper where the puzzle once was. But that can't be right, can it?

[The whispers in his own mind have stopped, snuffed out by whatever power is here. The Starscourge should not be so easily quelled. Not even the gods alone could manage it. Perhaps the crystal... But Ardyn's trying very hard not to think about any of that.]

I'm not sure.

When I stop to listen all I hear is sorrow.

[On his end he kneels down in the middle of the circle of dolls, peering into their faces.]

Maybe they wish for me to leave.

I would if I could, spirits, I am sorry...

[It takes a great deal of effort not to snicker at the young man.]

Is that how you apologize to spirits in your world? Perhaps more groveling is in order. That would hardly satisfy the ones in mine. Apologize with feeling.

[This brings out a small laugh from chaos. In his own world he had other ways to quiet raging spirits.]

Well, in this world all I have are my words, right? What more can I do?

Offer a blood sacrifice.

[He sounds fairly serious, but he's curious how the lad might react more than anything.]

No....

I think if blood was what the spirits wanted we'd have sated them by now.

We lose someone every day, don't we?

[Although he doesn't sound entirely convinced of his own words. He wants to believe this place doesn't need them to suffer.]

Oh, but they carry us off or swallow us whole. There's no telling what they might do with a body after that. Perhaps there's not a drop of blood that's spent.

I've not been keeping track of the dead, but we do seem to have those little obituaries regularly. How thoughtful of our dear Administrator.

Is that how you quiet the angry dead where you're from? Bloodshed?

Of course. Is there any other way to soothe them?

[There's an amused lilt once more in his tone.]

Well, I'm not from your world so I wouldn't know.

[There is amusement in chaos's voice as well, though it's laced in a bit of sadness.]

I mean in your world, of course. Neither of us stand within our own realm. All options may well be upon the table.

Where I'm from blood sacrifice is not necessary.

I can't imagine how something like that would even work.

Oh, it's quite simple, really. You sate the bloodlust of a vengeful spirit. Better a few drops than everything you hold within, wouldn't you say?

[Absolutely not.]

[Now it's just a matter of pride not to say. Noct and Ignis seem to be dead here, if Ardyn's read the census rightly. There's no real harm in admitting to who he is. But this is more fun.]
