Well, it was pretty embarrassing when a later-season Hiro appeared before he went to attack 'the cheerleader' at Union Wells High School. In order to leave without getting murdered, Hiro stuffed him in the luggage compartment of a bus. But no one was around for that.

And we're talking about headcanons, so I'm going to go with something someone else brought up and I've since adopted as headcanon. Sylar wasn't exactly a social guy when he was Gabriel. I don't expect him to have made more than a couple amicable acquaintances- no close friends- and definitely no one interested romantically. Probably a virgin, right? Or at least very inexperienced.

So when he seduces Maya in season 2 (directly after killing her brother), I envision him being smooth and sexy right up until the point where the actual sex happens, and then the rest of it being embarrassingly awkward and bad. The contrast of sudden uncertainty would only make it worse. I just have this vision of Maya patting him on the back and reassuring him that they all have bad nights.
