Definitely function. He always dresses professionally or outdoorsy. In general, if it's not hiking gear it's a very professor-y look, most of the time a combination of corduroy suit, tie and vest. The only time he's wearing comfy, everyday clothes is when he's with his Mom or at home (which almost never happens).

But their appearance is definitely important to him, he's got a lot of different outfits and he likes dressing snappy. They're often ill-fitting, though. He can't afford fitted clothes.
