ONE: IT WON'T BE LONG NOW... Well, you made a mistake. You spent too long searching around, or you ran outside near the end of the day for just one more thing, and now you've been locked out. You can search around all you want, but the best shelter you can hope for is pressing against the side of a sealed up building. You do still have your tablet, though. Maybe someone on the network can give you some advice, or at least some comfort while you wait for hypothermia to set in.
TWO: CABIN FEVER Maybe you didn't want that mistake of getting caught outside to happen again, but now you've ended up staying too long in one location, and cabin fever has set in. Maybe you're taking to the network to try and ignore the hallucinations. Maybe you want to tell everyone that you've figured out they're all in on your kidnapping. Maybe you ended up wandering off and now you'd really like to know if anyone can check back in the place you were at for your pants.

THREE: AN UNEXPECTED MEETING You're going about your business searching what seems like it might be an especially promising house--it's fully intact and there's even a working fireplace with some wood! It looks like someone else has the same idea, though, and you've run into them in the middle of your search. Do you share the potential wealth or try to kick them out? On the other hand, maybe you know who this is, or maybe you're just glad to actually see another person for the first time in ages.
FOUR: GOOD MORGUE-NING You've just woken up in a morgue after dying in one unfortunate way or another. You have no idea where you are beyond that, but your tablet is insisting you can't stay here, so you should probably get out of here pretty quickly. Of course, bringing people back from the dead isn't a perfect science, so you're missing something important to you. Maybe you've lost your voice, maybe you can't remember where you're from, maybe you can't remember where you are right now. It looks like someone else is nearby, though. Maybe they can help you out?
[ Rhodey thinks it might be just a bit hypocritical if he was frightened of something walking around in a suit of armor, given who he is. Given who his best friend is. If anything, he might be a bit jealous that his suit of armor didn't show up with him. Metal might not be the best insulator, but at this point, any kind of shelter would be better than the meager shelter of one wall.
His head turns sharply when he hears a voice. He ducks back out from behind the wall, peering about the landscape, trying to discern where they might be. If there are more people than just him stuck out here, they might be able to combine their body heat, they might be able to survive the night.
No, [ His voice is completely deadpan. ] I simply thought I'd freeze out here, instead.
[ Rhodey might not be the strongest guy around, and he might not be a tech genius, but he does know how to break inside a house. What windows there are, are several inches thick. He might be able to break the glass, had he his gun on him, but with nothing but his bare hands?
The windows don't slide open, and the doors are deadlock sealed. There is no lock for him to pick.
Long story short, they're stuck out here until morning. ]
I don't think anything about this place is a joke.
[ He's been in some tough conditions before. It's just the nature of things when he'd willingly spend the entirety of his after-college career with the United States Air Force. Although, the majority of his time over seas had been in a different kind of desert; more Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan than the cold reaches of Siberia.
He's a little ashamed to admit -- he's a little bit out of his depth here.
And honestly, he's a bit relieved when he catches sight of the archer. He doesn't know much about the man called Clint, but he's a part of Tony's team (and Rhodey's not sure how he feels, being a part of the Avengers. He doesn't want to be a superhero, he just wants to help people,) but if Tony trusts him, so does Rhodey. He gives him a nod in acknowledgement, and in thanks. ]
Surrounded by snow, [ is the cold, dry answer he gives, almost as cold as the temperature outside before expanding, ] I was headed east, last I checked.
"Obviously you don't, and you aren't Clint, because he'd say 'You stole it from me, Katie, but I was too busy running around in ninja jammies at the time, so I let you keep it.' " Complete with airquotes and her best Clint impersonation, which was terrible by the way.
This was frustrating to her, and frankly kind of offensive. If this guy was going to try and impersonate somebody, he should have at least been trying to get his facts straight. "The real Clint would never claim to be the only Hawkeye. We're a team. We're both Hawkeye."
"But okay, if you're so smart, 'Mister Barton,' " (More airquotes) "Then tell me. How long have you been an Avenger?"
"Whoa, sorry!" The figure in the doorway has her furred hood drawn up to protect her face from the cold, but she throws it back now and shakes off the snow covering her.
"Didn't know someone else was in here," Korra says, giving Angie what she hopes is a disarming smile. Both hands sweep out to the side, showing the other woman that she's unarmed. "Mind if I join you? The storm's getting worse."
[He foolishly never considered that his own shouts might incite someone else to try and rescue him, and now he feels a bit guilty. He really hopes that this stranger hasn't put herself in any danger for his benefit... the only small comfort is that she must have been locked out well before he shouted, so he hasn't drawn her out from the warmth.]
No... uh, sorry!
[This is an awkward conversation to be shouting through a snowstorm.]
I was looking for anyone who might be caught out here, are you... are you okay?
[ Short and sweet. She doesn't mean to challenge his logic, but it's hard to imagine people finding something to hide behind. Did they duck down and pull a white blanket over their head? ]
[It might not be the body that he would have chosen to be in, but Al can hardly deny that his armour certainly has presence in situations like this. Following the sound of the shouts, he crunches through the snow and emerges from the gloom, brushing snow from his shoulder spikes where it had begun to pile up.]
Hey, there.
[His voice is incongruously cheerful, as if this was a good place to have an idle chat. He's actually worried about this poor man trapped outside, but he wants to try and keep spirits as high as he can.]
Sounds a bit like someone else I know... He was always running across the land, giving his aid to whoever needed it.
[She's half-tempted to ask what nefarious evil America has to fight, but decides against it. She'd rather not her first face-to-face conversation in a while be a sad one.
(If only she knew.)
Dragging one of the cushions over to the fireplace, she perches herself on it, arms wrapped around her knees as she watches America work.]
Is it taking? I can look for more dry wood if it is necessary.
[Smile noted! Korra likes this expression on him much better than the one he'd worn earlier, when he first reached out to her. If talking about powers will make him feel better, then that's what Korra will stick with.]
What kind of powers? [When she feels a spot of cold on her face, she scans the area around them, noting the light snow that's starting to fall.] We should start moving before we get caught out here too long. Do you have somewhere to go?
[ Even on the off chance that the doors were working, he doesn't think anyone in their right minds would be wandering about in this kind of weather, at this time of night.
Which, he thinks he is safe in assuming, means that she is in the exact same situation that he is.
(And if he trusts his senses, which he usually does, there's something vaguely familiar about this woman. Nothing pertinent enough for him to put his finger on, not enough to shift his focus from their extreme situation, but just enough for him to place it on the back-burner to puzzle out later, should they survive this night.) ]
Any idea where you are? Maybe we can ride out the night together.
[ Or maybe they'll end up dying together, who knows. ]
"No it isn't. And I can repair it, I just did not have the tools to do so." Helena enjoyed having working plumbing, but she could make do without. So far as there was shelter and warmth, those were her priorities.
"Not at all," she responded, opening her pack and pulling out a couple of the rations she'd picked up, handing them to over. "Managed to pick up enough for a few days. Tomorrow I should make it a priority to get to a drop point again and get a couple more for insurance's sake."
It was then that her manners caught up with her and she chuckled. "I'm dreadfully sorry, my manners seem to have become atrocious of late. My name is Helena Wells."
"Decidedly not. At least there are buildings to take shelter in and one can make fires." It was something, at least. Though Helena still clung to the vain hope of finding more articles of winter clothing somewhere in her searching. But at least the coat would keep her warm enough so long as she didn't get stuck outside for too long.
"I'm Helena Wells, it is a pleasure to meet you," she said with a nod. She then looked over at the wolf. "And your companion is Grey Wind?" She was rather certain that was the name from how he'd spoken to the wolf moments ago. "Though I cannot say that I have heard of Winterfell." Though from the name alone, it clearly was in the north of wherever Robb was from.
"No, I'd rather not go back there," she responded with a slight shudder. Helena hadn't liked waking up in it, nor did she like to looks of the things within it.
"That is perhaps the best choice," Helena said glancing around. It wasn't easy trying to pick a direction, especially when she had no idea which direction was which. "Perhaps that way?" She suggested, gesturing to the right. When in doubt, she was going to rely on her instincts as much as possible.
[Korra laughs a little, then abruptly sneezes, proving his point. As she rubs at her nose, she grumbles. She shouldn't be feeling the cold so keenly, but without her connection to water, the snow just feels like...well, snow.]
I haven't seen anyone pass by here in hours now. [They're probably all safe inside the buildings, she thinks.] Even if you're wearing that armor, you can't be planning to just walk around the whole night, are you?
[Reminded of the danger, Korra waves a hand at him, beckoning him to follow her.]
I'm trying to make a snow shelter. Want to help? We can wait out the storm together.
Maria was looking out the window at the desolate snow covered plain. She didn't mind the cold, and frankly she survived on less, but something just didn't feel right about this.
That coupled with the fact that she didn't do well with the unknown, made this situation next to impossible. She was a busy woman, and had things to do.
She spun, her gun drawn, face hard and tight. "You.... what are you doing here?"

[Maria had been in the house about a week, and still hadn't figured a way out of this frozen tundra. She was beginning to think there wasn't one, and she was just fated to die here alone.
She trusted Natasha, Fury trusted her, and Steve trusted her, so when she stopped in the doorway, she couldn't help but feel a little relieved. ]
[He can't count the amount of nights that he's sat in the darkness wishing to feel the cold for just a moment. He used to watch Ed shiver in his sleep in envy, the recollection of frost touching his own skin a pale memory. But now, in some twisted way, he's one of the luckiest ones here. He may have lost his alchemy somehow, he may be separated from everyone he loves, but at least he isn't freezing to death.]
Mm, count me in.
[Now that he's found someone he can help, he'll not be leaving her all night if he can help it.]
Most people I come across at night haven't even started to make a snow shelter, you must have done this before. Was your home cold too?
Well. He hadn't been expecting that. At least he wasn't the only person that had ended up here, though last he knew she had been with Fury on the helicarrier after the whole Ultron showdown.
"If I had any idea, I'd tell you. I'm assuming you have no idea how we go here either?"
"...I have no idea what you mean by ninja jammies and I'm not sure I want to know," he said honestly, not entirely sure what to make of this girl. What the hell kind of imagination did a person have to have in order to come up with this sort of thing?
That, or she was a very clear HYDRA operative.
"I am the only Hawkeye. I've never met anyone else with that codename, hate to break it to you." Clint was getting a bit defensive now, trying to keep his temper in check. "I've been an Avenger since the Chitauri and Loki tried to take over the Earth. We didn't have much of a choice at the time. Before that, I was working with SHIELD alongside Agent Romanoff and Agent Coulson."
