ONE: IT WON'T BE LONG NOW... Well, you made a mistake. You spent too long searching around, or you ran outside near the end of the day for just one more thing, and now you've been locked out. You can search around all you want, but the best shelter you can hope for is pressing against the side of a sealed up building. You do still have your tablet, though. Maybe someone on the network can give you some advice, or at least some comfort while you wait for hypothermia to set in.
TWO: CABIN FEVER Maybe you didn't want that mistake of getting caught outside to happen again, but now you've ended up staying too long in one location, and cabin fever has set in. Maybe you're taking to the network to try and ignore the hallucinations. Maybe you want to tell everyone that you've figured out they're all in on your kidnapping. Maybe you ended up wandering off and now you'd really like to know if anyone can check back in the place you were at for your pants.

THREE: AN UNEXPECTED MEETING You're going about your business searching what seems like it might be an especially promising house--it's fully intact and there's even a working fireplace with some wood! It looks like someone else has the same idea, though, and you've run into them in the middle of your search. Do you share the potential wealth or try to kick them out? On the other hand, maybe you know who this is, or maybe you're just glad to actually see another person for the first time in ages.
FOUR: GOOD MORGUE-NING You've just woken up in a morgue after dying in one unfortunate way or another. You have no idea where you are beyond that, but your tablet is insisting you can't stay here, so you should probably get out of here pretty quickly. Of course, bringing people back from the dead isn't a perfect science, so you're missing something important to you. Maybe you've lost your voice, maybe you can't remember where you're from, maybe you can't remember where you are right now. It looks like someone else is nearby, though. Maybe they can help you out?
[He gulps, as if testing the idea, but comes up negative-- he's all around sore, all around numb, but his throat isn't raw or aching or burning. Most of the problems he figures are probably just his brain psyching himself out. It usually is, and he likes that interpretation better.
So he shakes his head, and after a moment of consideration, hazards another glance up at her. Still worrying his lip, but slowly it looks like he's becoming... well, not relaxed, but at least a little more willing to converse. He looks back down at his tablet once more, and taps out a message just as before.]

[He doesn't keep that message up for long though, and quickly types out something else.]
Keeping warm in the snow is tricky. I can teach you some tricks I learned from home if you want.
[He doesn't seem so tense anymore, and Korra takes that as a good sign. Besides, his questions are easy to answer for now, and Korra doesn't mind explaining bending. It's not the first time she's had to do it anyway.]
Some people back home can control the elements. That ability's called "bending", and the people who do it are "benders". [She lifts her hand, palm up, and stares down at it for a moment.] I used to be able to heal with waterbending, but this place isn't letting me use any of it.
[He watches, listens attentively; still not making eye contact, but he's kind of looking at her face, looking at her palm when she holds it up before looking at her face again.]

[When he shows her the tablet now there's a small smile on his face-- if there was anything Colin would always jump at getting to talk about, it was superpowers and superheroes, and this lady kinda sounded like she could be a superhero to him even if no one had their powers.]
[Smile noted! Korra likes this expression on him much better than the one he'd worn earlier, when he first reached out to her. If talking about powers will make him feel better, then that's what Korra will stick with.]
What kind of powers? [When she feels a spot of cold on her face, she scans the area around them, noting the light snow that's starting to fall.] We should start moving before we get caught out here too long. Do you have somewhere to go?
[He's turned his attention to typing on his tablet again-- but he shakes his head at her question. Nowhere to go, nowhere to be; not that the houses were exactly stable even if he did.
But she's right, had to keep moving. Even if it was early in the day, who knew how bad the weather was going to get? He takes a few shuffling steps forward, still typing, before he stops again and flips it around to show her.]
i got kidnapped by a super-villain & he gave me sum stuff that lets me transform into a big monster w ith super-strength an all my scratches wuld heal really fast.
[...Weird story, but he's practically beaming with pride.]

[The mention of his kidnapping makes her frown, though. It sounds like he had been force-fed something that changed him, and that doesn't sit well with her at all.]
[Colin's first reaction was to shake his head. No, it didn't hurt-- not anymore at least. The first time hurt like hell, but that's kind of what happens when you pump super-mutant drugs into someone's system.
He thinks about his answer for a moment.]

[She flashes a smile at him, glad to have that reassurance. While the kidnapping still rubs her the wrong way, he doesn't seem to be bothered by its results. It goes a long way to calming her.]

[She seemed nice-- kind of like a worrier, if she got that upset over hearing about his kidnapping. That whole ordeal probably ended up being the best thing that happened to him, considering how much his life had turned around. But he didn't really want to worry her more.

But he's right back at beaming when she praises him, a bit of a spring in his step as he types once more.]
[His face twists into a pout, tugging slightly on the bottom of the tablet so he could have it back-- this time, worrying his lip a little as he tried to figure out how to get the draw function on the tablet, and taking a few moments to drag his finger around the screen.]
