Network Prompts
ONE: IT WON'T BE LONG NOW... Well, you made a mistake. You spent too long searching around, or you ran outside near the end of the day for just one more thing, and now you've been locked out. You can search around all you want, but the best shelter you can hope for is pressing against the side of a sealed up building. You do still have your tablet, though. Maybe someone on the network can give you some advice, or at least some comfort while you wait for hypothermia to set in.
TWO: CABIN FEVER Maybe you didn't want that mistake of getting caught outside to happen again, but now you've ended up staying too long in one location, and cabin fever has set in. Maybe you're taking to the network to try and ignore the hallucinations. Maybe you want to tell everyone that you've figured out they're all in on your kidnapping. Maybe you ended up wandering off and now you'd really like to know if anyone can check back in the place you were at for your pants.
Action Prompts
THREE: AN UNEXPECTED MEETING You're going about your business searching what seems like it might be an especially promising house--it's fully intact and there's even a working fireplace with some wood! It looks like someone else has the same idea, though, and you've run into them in the middle of your search. Do you share the potential wealth or try to kick them out? On the other hand, maybe you know who this is, or maybe you're just glad to actually see another person for the first time in ages.
FOUR: GOOD MORGUE-NING You've just woken up in a morgue after dying in one unfortunate way or another. You have no idea where you are beyond that, but your tablet is insisting you can't stay here, so you should probably get out of here pretty quickly. Of course, bringing people back from the dead isn't a perfect science, so you're missing something important to you. Maybe you've lost your voice, maybe you can't remember where you're from, maybe you can't remember where you are right now. It looks like someone else is nearby, though. Maybe they can help you out?
[He's a doctor - even now, after everything that's happened, after everything he's done, the guilt that lays heavy on his head, he can't bring himself to leave someone alone outside to freeze. He doesn't know yet what kind of person she is. So he smiles as she closes the door behind her and approaches.]
You're cold and probably disoriented, maybe a little dehydrated. It's no wonder.
[He leans back over the fire and blows through cupped hands until it's settled in and crackling against the kindling and larger pieces of wood, then glances up.]
Yeah. This place is great for that. Still, people are jumpy around here...with good reason.
[She's meanwhile made her way back over to the food. The question makes her laugh though.]
I'm really not the person you should be asking about "decent". If it's edible and not too highly irradiated, it's good enough in my books. There's enough for a few days here at least. Should be fine.
[Even in the vault most of the food had been less then great, and in the wasteland there was always irradiated food that was a hundred years or old.]
[It's a clinical assessment of what might be wrong with her, but he's not unaware of the emotional impact. Still, it's kind of a relief that she seems able to handle herself, and the situation.]
Irradiated?
[That's ugly, even if it's only a little bit irradiated. He pauses and turns, takes another look at her, eyes skimming up and down as if looking for signs of sickness.]
I'll look through it, see if I can't cook something worth eating. I've managed a few edible meals here.
Most food is back home. Water was too for the most part before we got the purifier up and running.
[Hope appears slightly malnourished and has a poorly done surgical scar near the top of her temple. ...and more then a few other scars here and there.]
Sounds like a plan. I'll look around for anything else we can scavenge in here.
[He smiles slightly, makes a note to look her over later if they get along and she trusts him enough. There's a chance she's already ill if she's been eating irradiated food, drinking irradiated water - not that he's sure what he could do about it in a place like this. Sutures and treatment of frostbite is one thing, radiation poisoning an entirely different thing.]
Alright. I'll look through it after.
[He shrugs off his parka, and sets it to the side, now that he's satisfied with having her in the cabin. He's wearing a beat up button-up shirt and a white t-shirt over his jeans, and he digs in his pack for a pair of house slippers he scavenged from another house.]
[Hope starts to look through a nearby closet. Her own jacket is on the couch in the next room and she's wearing a well patched shirt and pants that have seen better days. She's still wearing her boots though.]
And it's not always a good idea to stay in one place so that doesn't help.
[It's true - as much as he values other people, he's come to value his own space in the time he's been travelling in search of Johan and his past. But in a place like this, with stretches between seeing another face, friendly or not, seeming to drag out into eternity...it's a relief to have a pleasant conversation face to face instead of on the tablet.]
But I think I like intrusions into my alone time more than endless snowdrifts. In moderation. But I take it you haven't found anyone to travel with?

See any decent food?

It's been a while since I saw someone.

[There is a reason she's called the Lone Wanderer even if its not always accurate.]
