Network Prompts
ONE: IT WON'T BE LONG NOW... Well, you made a mistake. You spent too long searching around, or you ran outside near the end of the day for just one more thing, and now you've been locked out. You can search around all you want, but the best shelter you can hope for is pressing against the side of a sealed up building. You do still have your tablet, though. Maybe someone on the network can give you some advice, or at least some comfort while you wait for hypothermia to set in.
TWO: CABIN FEVER Maybe you didn't want that mistake of getting caught outside to happen again, but now you've ended up staying too long in one location, and cabin fever has set in. Maybe you're taking to the network to try and ignore the hallucinations. Maybe you want to tell everyone that you've figured out they're all in on your kidnapping. Maybe you ended up wandering off and now you'd really like to know if anyone can check back in the place you were at for your pants.
Action Prompts
THREE: AN UNEXPECTED MEETING You're going about your business searching what seems like it might be an especially promising house--it's fully intact and there's even a working fireplace with some wood! It looks like someone else has the same idea, though, and you've run into them in the middle of your search. Do you share the potential wealth or try to kick them out? On the other hand, maybe you know who this is, or maybe you're just glad to actually see another person for the first time in ages.
FOUR: GOOD MORGUE-NING You've just woken up in a morgue after dying in one unfortunate way or another. You have no idea where you are beyond that, but your tablet is insisting you can't stay here, so you should probably get out of here pretty quickly. Of course, bringing people back from the dead isn't a perfect science, so you're missing something important to you. Maybe you've lost your voice, maybe you can't remember where you're from, maybe you can't remember where you are right now. It looks like someone else is nearby, though. Maybe they can help you out?
"I've met a few people. All as confused as I was. Not in this one but if you go out and explore there are other buildings scattered around in the snow.
I think you can use the weird devices that we woke up with to talk to people as well."
"I heard some chatter from them but I wasn't paying much attention. I was a little worried this was all some HYDRA trap, honestly," he admitted, finishing his raid of the cupboards.
Sliding into one of the chairs, the archer glanced over all of it before grabbing a box of crackers to dig into.
"Probably easier to kill." If there's one thing that's really obvious to Hope it's that these people she's meeting don't seem to be from the same world she's from. The lack of complaining about radiation for one but the second, stuff like this. World wide anything.
"Do they have an actual goal, or just general terror?"
Yeah, he's starting to realize that the more he talks to her.
"They want to cleanse the world of anyone that would be a threat and then take control. At least, that was there last big thing. Lately they've been experimenting on individuals to see if they can harness powers--abilities that a normal person can't," he said with a shrug and a frown, snagging a few more crackers.
"1940?" She looks amazed. "That's ....wow. I thought you meant at least 2040. I'm really getting the feeling that whatever brought us here brought us from more then different places because it was 2277 before I woke up here."
She shrugs. "Well I'm just going from my history books mind but the European Commonwealth got in a war with the Middle East over oil. America ended up annexing Canada and got invaded by China. The UN and then EC got dissolved and it all lead up to the Great war in 2077 when everyone launched their nukes and nearly destroyed the world."
"...And here I thought an alien invasion was the worst thing that could happen."
He couldn't even imagine what something like that would do to the world, couldn't imagine living in a place like that. And yet this girl here was living proof that apparently it happened and it got ugly.
"Apparently people are really good at bouncing back. There were also underground vaults at least in America. ...well most of them were horrible experiments set up by the people who built them but at least a lot of them kept the radiation out."
She trails off because yeah, the vaults. ...the vaults she's explored were pretty terrible. She's nineteen and she's been through enough stuff for several life times.
"Everyone's pretty isolated in small settlements at the moment. I grew up in one of those underground vaults so I'm only getting to see it for myself recently."
Clint's quiet, soaking all of that in and trying to imagine what would happen to the world he knows if something like that happened. The Avengers--SHIELD--they did everything they could to protect the world from threats but would they be able to stop something like countries going against countries? Nuclear war hadn't exactly been in the handbook.
"...Sounds like you're one hell of a girl to survive that sort of thing," he admitted, smiling slightly before looking down at the table. "I've been through some pretty crazy stuff but that's a whole new level of insane. I'm not even sure Cap would be able to really process that and he was frozen for sixty years then thawed out and lives in the modern day."
"My life's been kinda a ....adventure?" She shrugs slightly. "Something like that. Recently anyway. Before that I was just a kid growing up in a vault who was going to be a doctor one day."
And then everything happened at once and her life became so much more complicated...and violent.
"How does your friend deal with being in the modern day?"

She sits down as well, taking a drink from a water bottle she'd filled up.

"No, not that kind. I almost wish it was a giant beast instead of a world wide terrorist organization."

"They've been around since at least the forties."

Having been about to pop a few more crackers into his mouth, he pauses, glancing at her
"..1940. Why?"

And the mysteries of this place just kept getting more and more extreme.
"It was 2015 where I'm from."
no subject
No she does not even look like she's joking. She thinks back to her history books.
"2015 that's....37 years before the resource wars."
no subject
"Resource war?" he repeated, trying to get a feel for that. "What the hell happened where you're from that there was a need for a war over resources?"
