TEST DRIVE MEME

If you'd like to apply to Snowblind and would like to test the waters first or get a sample set up for your application, this meme is for you! We've even provided some prompts for you to use if you want (but feel free to make up your own). Here's how it works.
✭ Reply to this entry with a character you're considering apping into the game. You can include the name of your character and the fandom in your subject line.
✭ Comment around to others on the meme, whether you're in the game already or not.
✭ Now you have a sample ready for your application!
✭ So go reserve and apply when reservations and applications are open.
✭ Seriously, do it.

Network Prompts
ONE: IT WON'T BE LONG NOW...
Well, you made a mistake. You spent too long searching around, or you ran outside near the end of the day for just one more thing, and now you've been locked out. You can search around all you want, but the best shelter you can hope for is pressing against the side of a sealed up building. You do still have your tablet, though. Maybe someone on the network can give you some advice, or at least some comfort while you wait for hypothermia to set in.

TWO: CABIN FEVER
Maybe you didn't want that mistake of getting caught outside to happen again, but now you've ended up staying too long in one location, and cabin fever has set in. Maybe you're taking to the network to try and ignore the hallucinations. Maybe you want to tell everyone that you've figured out they're all in on your kidnapping. Maybe you ended up wandering off and now you'd really like to know if anyone can check back in the place you were at for your pants.

Action Prompts
THREE: AN UNEXPECTED MEETING
You're going about your business searching what seems like it might be an especially promising house--it's fully intact and there's even a working fireplace with some wood! It looks like someone else has the same idea, though, and you've run into them in the middle of your search. Do you share the potential wealth or try to kick them out? On the other hand, maybe you know who this is, or maybe you're just glad to actually see another person for the first time in ages.

FOUR: GOOD MORGUE-NING
You've just woken up in a morgue after dying in one unfortunate way or another. You have no idea where you are beyond that, but your tablet is insisting you can't stay here, so you should probably get out of here pretty quickly. Of course, bringing people back from the dead isn't a perfect science, so you're missing something important to you. Maybe you've lost your voice, maybe you can't remember where you're from, maybe you can't remember where you are right now. It looks like someone else is nearby, though. Maybe they can help you out?

I'm disinclined to believe that either of those things would be the case. It takes more than a little snow to drive me mad, and this house is a bit lacking in oddly-shaped animals to be a cave painting.

I take it nothing of the sort has happened to you, then?

Nope. Spectacles are a tad smudged, but not enough to look like the shape of a hand. Perhaps if I squint a little.

Fact of the matter is humans often have extreme and adverse reactions to prolonged isolation or dark weather. Have you been stuck there for long?

In the interest of fair consideration, I'm not exactly a human. Not that it means much here, it seems.

You bring up a good point, though I haven't been in this house for terribly long. Almost a week now. A week is nothing for me, especially as far as isolation goes.

All sorts talk about not being quite "human" around here. Not sure it matters anymore. Haven't seen anyone flying through the sky or jumping over buildings.

Wait wait, a week? You haven't been outside in a week?

I couldn't do either of those things even before I was spirited away to this frozen hellhole, unfortunately. Though it was a lot easier to heal my injuries before. I do miss that.

Have you seen the snow? I have no plans of going out there until I need more supplies, especially given that bit about injuries I just mentioned.

Hyper regenerative cell tissue then?

[Wait. He doesn't care, he's a historian not a neuroscientist.]

Well yes anyway but supplies aren't exactly easy to come by here even on a good day. Besides, it's just a little extra snow drift, isn't it?

Also there may be the slight fact that it seems we actually DO go mad around here staying indoors too often. Down the rabbit hole and straight into cabin fever, so to speak.

[Well, England was all ready to answer that question with an abridged explanation of how nation health works, but that latter part is a lot more pressing.]

Well, that would have been a nice bit of info to include on this silly little thing. It tells us to go inside and then doesn't warn us about what will happen when we stay there, but lord forbid the obituaries don't go up on time.

[What a stupid tablet. Who designed this thing?]

I suppose I've found myself down the rabbit hole, then.

Temporary insanity. Happens to the best of us.

[Aka he totally found this out cause he tried to hole himself away forever in some house the actual first week he was in this frozen hellhole.]

I can't imagine who's creating this quaint little information network is very keen on letting us know that we could go crazy, though. Perhaps it's all one overdrawn behavioural experiment? Or maybe anyone here before us was already mental. Hard to tell.

If it's not too late, you could always try adventuring out now and see what happens. Do try not to die, though. I imagine it's very messy.

I know a few people who would argue that it's not temporary, in my case.

I have no doubts that our host is less than benevolent. It only seems strange to have such inconsistency in the safety measures. Hell, the bloody doors lock at curfew.

[Sigh!!!]

I'll go out tomorrow morning. I'm not inclined to gamble on the hours left in the day. Additionally, if the hands are just hallucinations, I don't particularly need to worry about them posing a threat.

Temporary extreme insanity then. I'm flexible.

I don't know, seems to befit some diabolical evil all-powerful mastermind, don't you think? Inconsistency makes people more uncomfortable. Puts them on edge, less likely to rebel for fear of the consequences.

Suppose dealing with hallucinations probably has better odds than dealing with the snow, anyway. Try not to talk to them. Or name them. You'll become attached.

I have very high standards when it comes to "all-powerful masterminds." [Since he used to be one, kind of...] This is all very interesting, but I'm hesitant to give our captors that much credit.

I'm not a conversationalist. I think I'll be all right.
[Plus he's used to talking to invisible things that can actually talk back. These are boring in comparison.]
