Network Prompts
ONE: IT WON'T BE LONG NOW... Well, you made a mistake. You spent too long searching around, or you ran outside near the end of the day for just one more thing, and now you've been locked out. You can search around all you want, but the best shelter you can hope for is pressing against the side of a sealed up building. You do still have your tablet, though. Maybe someone on the network can give you some advice, or at least some comfort while you wait for hypothermia to set in.
TWO: CABIN FEVER Maybe you didn't want that mistake of getting caught outside to happen again, but now you've ended up staying too long in one location, and cabin fever has set in. Maybe you're taking to the network to try and ignore the hallucinations. Maybe you want to tell everyone that you've figured out they're all in on your kidnapping. Maybe you ended up wandering off and now you'd really like to know if anyone can check back in the place you were at for your pants.
Action Prompts
THREE: AN UNEXPECTED MEETING You're going about your business searching what seems like it might be an especially promising house--it's fully intact and there's even a working fireplace with some wood! It looks like someone else has the same idea, though, and you've run into them in the middle of your search. Do you share the potential wealth or try to kick them out? On the other hand, maybe you know who this is, or maybe you're just glad to actually see another person for the first time in ages.
FOUR: GOOD MORGUE-NING You've just woken up in a morgue after dying in one unfortunate way or another. You have no idea where you are beyond that, but your tablet is insisting you can't stay here, so you should probably get out of here pretty quickly. Of course, bringing people back from the dead isn't a perfect science, so you're missing something important to you. Maybe you've lost your voice, maybe you can't remember where you're from, maybe you can't remember where you are right now. It looks like someone else is nearby, though. Maybe they can help you out?
[ frustrated is simply the beginning of what he is, as clueless as everyone else. he has his suspicions, his theories, but it all comes down to one inarguable fact: whatever this place is, it's formidable. it's formidable enough to take him unwittingly. formidable enough to do the same to countless others, and now to her. he blinks slow, feeling a drop in his stomach watching as she nods and wipes her eyes.
they are all clueless.
next to helpless, but not quite. he has never broken against any odds, and he doesn't intend to fold like so much insignificance now. his rage is bottled, teeming, brimming at the surface. it mixes in a heady mixture with all his fears, all the scenarios he dare not consider for his own sanity.
in the silence he could very well spiral thinking of his daughter.
it is part of the reason his gaze follows her, quietly intense, drinking her in. he is simply glad to have someone to see and touch. someone familiar. someone he might trust. it's gratitude he fights to reject, for his own survival. ] Go. [ his hold loosens and he looks to the fire and the pile of blankets in front of it, then the broken floorboards. ] I'll cover up this mess.
[ caroline forbes has never been accused of being weak but she feels it right now. she feels more fragile than she's ever felt, she feels vulnerable in a way she hasn't felt since long before katherine smothered her with that pillow, since she was made a pawn in a game she didn't know was being played. now she's trapped in another game, it seems. and this time, she doesn't have the vampiric abilities to her advantage, to get her through this.
she is back to being that girl she so despised, weak. but she's determined not to slip into that, he tells her to move and she does, biting back a wince before she slides towards the fire.] If you want, I can add some of the scraps to the fire.
No; rest. [ it's soft spoken, an insisting directive as she slides from him, as she leaves his arms for the crackling warmth. ] Stay warm. [ that is what's imperative. what he wants, looking at her. what she needs, and what he feels compelled to give her. his attention turns to the gaping hole in the floor, and then to her form as she settles, safe and huddled by the fire.
it was worth it. (for so many reasons.) tearing up the floor, no matter what issues it incurred: including the gauged state of his hands; a gruesome inconvenience if anything. klaus flexes his fingers with a terrible wince, tests their usefulness before he moves to his feet. (it's here his healing abilities would go a long way and the absence grates on him. in the place, a lack of proper care might prove dangerous.)
he grits his teeth as he moves the planks back to their proper place as best her can, covers it up to the best of his ability. the leftovers he arranges beside him for the fire. ]
