TEST DRIVE MEME

If you'd like to apply to Snowblind and would like to test the waters first or get a sample set up for your application, this meme is for you! We've even provided some prompts for you to use if you want (but feel free to make up your own). Here's how it works.
✭ Reply to this entry with a character you're considering apping into the game. You can include the name of your character and the fandom in your subject line.
✭ Comment around to others on the meme, whether you're in the game already or not.
✭ Now you have a sample ready for your application!
✭ So go reserve and apply when reservations and applications are open.
✭ Seriously, do it.

Network Prompts
ONE: IT WON'T BE LONG NOW...
Well, you made a mistake. You spent too long searching around, or you ran outside near the end of the day for just one more thing, and now you've been locked out. You can search around all you want, but the best shelter you can hope for is pressing against the side of a sealed up building. You do still have your tablet, though. Maybe someone on the network can give you some advice, or at least some comfort while you wait for hypothermia to set in.

TWO: CABIN FEVER
Maybe you didn't want that mistake of getting caught outside to happen again, but now you've ended up staying too long in one location, and cabin fever has set in. Maybe you're taking to the network to try and ignore the hallucinations. Maybe you want to tell everyone that you've figured out they're all in on your kidnapping. Maybe you ended up wandering off and now you'd really like to know if anyone can check back in the place you were at for your pants.

Action Prompts
THREE: AN UNEXPECTED MEETING
You're going about your business searching what seems like it might be an especially promising house--it's fully intact and there's even a working fireplace with some wood! It looks like someone else has the same idea, though, and you've run into them in the middle of your search. Do you share the potential wealth or try to kick them out? On the other hand, maybe you know who this is, or maybe you're just glad to actually see another person for the first time in ages.

FOUR: GOOD MORGUE-NING
You've just woken up in a morgue after dying in one unfortunate way or another. You have no idea where you are beyond that, but your tablet is insisting you can't stay here, so you should probably get out of here pretty quickly. Of course, bringing people back from the dead isn't a perfect science, so you're missing something important to you. Maybe you've lost your voice, maybe you can't remember where you're from, maybe you can't remember where you are right now. It looks like someone else is nearby, though. Maybe they can help you out?

"Nope, not a thing." Kimbley shakes his head, but he doesn't look bothered. "It'd be nice if I could, but I've got no idea what happened. Waking up in a morgue's kind of grim though. Maybe it's someone's idea of a joke."

He shrugs again before folding his arms. He hunches his shoulders inward as though that will help protect him against the cold. The over-sized military uniform really isn't made for dealing with snow, so he's freezing. "I used to think seeing snow would be great." He complains. "What a mistake that was."

It should also be impossible to wake up in a morgue. It's one of those one-stop kind of deals.

Greed watches Kimbley for a long moment. The guy's cold. Hell, Greed's pretty cold even with the coat on-- it's a little too small for him, and the temperature means it's going to be a pain in the ass no matter what happens. He pulls the coat off of his shoulders after a long pause. He's not wearing much under it, a sweater-- who knows where he found that.

Greed drapes the coat over Kimbley's shoulders. He's still possessive, even now; still wants to consider Kimbley his even if the man ran off to the military the first chance he got, killing all of his allies in the process. "Here," he says. "We'll take turns wearing it."

Kimbley tenses when Greed throws the coat over his shoulders and while he does look at the Homunculus suspiciously, he's not complaining. Once he's sure that Greed isn't going to yank the coat away from him, Kimbley sets about pulling it on properly and buttoning it up. He stops a couple of buttons down from the neck - no matter how cold he gets, he doesn't like having things pressed against his neck.

"Yeah, okay." It's not a thank you because Kimbley's never bothered thanking anyone. He folds his arms again and while the coat kind of hangs on him, at least it's warm. He's not sure what else to say so he decides to stay quiet, instead continuing to look for something (anything) among the snowdrifts.

...He is grateful, alright?

Greed's used to Kimbley, even if he doesn't trust him. The lack of a thank you is expected. He'd be more alarmed by the alchemist thanking him, truthfully. He's cold, but stubborn. He won't say anything until his body temperature has dropped significantly.

Not that Kimbley needs to know about that.

He shivers despite himself. "There must be something around here. Just 'cause we can't see shelter doesn't mean it's not around, right?" The homunculus keeps moving. It's about the only way he knows to keep them both alive; if they stop to sit in the snow, they'll just freeze to death.

"You're way more of an optimist than I am, so you probably don't want me to answer that question." Kimbley smirks, but it's not the same nasty expression from before. It's obvious that he's joking. Now isn't the time for that, but as usual, Kimbley sees no problems with being morbid as hell.

He does notice that Greed appears to be cold, which is something he wasn't expecting. Can Homunculi even feel cold? He didn't think they could. This is new. He doesn't comment on it nor does he offer to part with the coat because as far as he's concerned, a Homunculus can handle the cold way better than he can. Ten years in prison will do that to you.

"You see anything? Besides snow. If you tell me you see snow I'm gonna be mad."
ossifragant: (Ô stranger things)

"One of us has to be an optimist," Greed says. His tone isn't cheerful; it's very matter-of-fact. He might not trust Kimbley, but between the options of being alone or dealing with a friend-turned-traitor, well...

Greed always did trust too easily.

He's not shivering yet, but that's only a matter of time. Homunculi biology isn't that different from human biology; they're made of the same stuff, just stitched together a little differently. It'll just take his body a little longer to register how cold it is. In the end, the only advantage it gives him is not realizing how poorly off he is.

"Don't see anything yet."
