TEST DRIVE MEME

If you'd like to apply to Snowblind and would like to test the waters first or get a sample set up for your application, this meme is for you! We've even provided some prompts for you to use if you want (but feel free to make up your own). Here's how it works.
✭ Reply to this entry with a character you're considering apping into the game. You can include the name of your character and the fandom in your subject line.
✭ Comment around to others on the meme, whether you're in the game already or not.
✭ Now you have a sample ready for your application!
✭ So go reserve and apply when reservations and applications are open.
✭ Seriously, do it.

Network Prompts
ONE: IT WON'T BE LONG NOW...
Well, you made a mistake. You spent too long searching around, or you ran outside near the end of the day for just one more thing, and now you've been locked out. You can search around all you want, but the best shelter you can hope for is pressing against the side of a sealed up building. You do still have your tablet, though. Maybe someone on the network can give you some advice, or at least some comfort while you wait for hypothermia to set in.

TWO: CABIN FEVER
Maybe you didn't want that mistake of getting caught outside to happen again, but now you've ended up staying too long in one location, and cabin fever has set in. Maybe you're taking to the network to try and ignore the hallucinations. Maybe you want to tell everyone that you've figured out they're all in on your kidnapping. Maybe you ended up wandering off and now you'd really like to know if anyone can check back in the place you were at for your pants.

Action Prompts
THREE: AN UNEXPECTED MEETING
You're going about your business searching what seems like it might be an especially promising house--it's fully intact and there's even a working fireplace with some wood! It looks like someone else has the same idea, though, and you've run into them in the middle of your search. Do you share the potential wealth or try to kick them out? On the other hand, maybe you know who this is, or maybe you're just glad to actually see another person for the first time in ages.

FOUR: GOOD MORGUE-NING
You've just woken up in a morgue after dying in one unfortunate way or another. You have no idea where you are beyond that, but your tablet is insisting you can't stay here, so you should probably get out of here pretty quickly. Of course, bringing people back from the dead isn't a perfect science, so you're missing something important to you. Maybe you've lost your voice, maybe you can't remember where you're from, maybe you can't remember where you are right now. It looks like someone else is nearby, though. Maybe they can help you out?

[ it's strange having a complete stranger be so wholly concerned for her welfare, and in the back of her mind Ygritte supposes that a clever enough man could set an ambush or trap for an unsuspecting fool this way - but something in her doubts that he's that conniving, by the look of him. and besides, she's no fool.

she nods at him through the feed, feeling strangely reassured by that attempt of his. ]
You should start t'be headin' back, then. I'll get there 'fore y'do, but I'll get the fire started.

[ her lips curl then into a suggestive smirk. ] Mayhaps 'f you make it back, I'll keep you warm.

[ ...and rob him blind of his supplies while she's at it, but. details. ]
pointnshoot: (no but really)

[Bard hasn't gone from zero to Thoroughly Scandalized this quickly in years. It's kind of impressive, or it would be if he wasn't busy being thoroughly scandalized. She can't be more than a handful of years older than his eldest, and that is just far too young.]

You'd do well to stay away from any man my age who takes you up on that offer, and I'll thank you not to make it to me again. [But he's packing back up anyway, because if he's going to die anyway he might as well do it while trying to survive.] I'll keep you company if I can, because this whole place is a bad one to be alone in, but that's it.

[ scandalizing is one of Ygritte's feature strengths; without it, she'd never have escaped Jon Snow's capture out by the Fist of the First Men. he'd been too busy blushing like a maiden at the filth that'd been coming out of her mouth to stop her from running.

to this end, she'll see how far she can press her luck with Bard; she's already on the move as well, the camera shaking slightly as she trudges through the icy drifts toward the hollowed-out building. ]

An' what's wrong with a man of your age? Sure you've a few more lines on your face than a younger man, but 's long as your cock still works and y'know where t' put it...

[ ...perhaps she's counting on his indignation to keep him warmer. ]
pointnshoot: (oh yes absolutely)

[personal profile] pointnshoot 2015-06-02 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
[It's certainly off-putting, and the beginnings of all sorts of protests and fatherly tirades come to mind as he sets his tablet down to finish bundling up and pull his backpack back on, but Bard suddenly remembers being young and brash, eager to prove he was all grown up in all sorts of ways that frankly embarrass him now. So he's going to do something completely horrible, and we'll just see who's indignant enough to not suffer so much from the cold.]

You'll understand when you're older.
kindlings: (sassing)

I laughed at this for a good twenty minutes before bed, last night. :D

[ There's a (perhaps anticipated) righteous sputter of indignation over the feed, and then Ygritte tamps down on the urge to scream at him that she's nineteen, she's practically an old maid by how spearwives north of the Wall are concerned, and she knows more than he thinks she does.

Instead, she does something that surprises even herself: she laughs. A throw-her-red-head-back kind of laugh. You know nothin', stranger. ]

...I'll show you what I understand, when y' get here...if you make it, o'course.
pointnshoot: (another close call)

I was very proud of myself for that one

[He'll give credit where credit is due: she recovers quickly. Of course, he's in the trickier position here: she seems like the sort who'll see victory in getting the last word, and any number of false steps on his part might be taken as encouragement. Bard takes a moment to collect his thoughts, catching his tablet between his teeth as he crawls out of his little snow cave to buy himself the time. (That poor thing's going to get scratched to hell if he keeps this up.)

He immediately regrets emerging into the open air, but there's no point turning back now. Anyway, he has a comeback that should be sufficient, even if it's not half as good as his previous.]

If this is your idea of gaining a man's attentions, it can't be very much.
kindlings: (over the shoulder commentary)

it's quite praise-worthy. :p

[personal profile] kindlings 2015-06-02 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Her breath comes heavier as the snow she's trudging through gets deeper, and the cold is making her teeth chatter now, but she soldiers on without complaint. She's almost to the building — which is good, because the weather is picking up and the snowfall all around them is starting to get heavier.

She scoffs at his comment, not at all fazed by the insult; it's not like she was particularly trying hard to seduce. ]

'Tch. Men're simple creatures, whether north or south o' the Wall - what they want's easy 'nough t' know most times.

[ ...a complete falsehood, really, because as much as she'd loathe to admit it, Jon Snow was much more complicated — given his betrayal at Queenscrown — than she'd realized. ]
pointnshoot: (okay but listen)

[personal profile] pointnshoot 2015-06-02 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[Bard's toes are already colder than he'd like--he really wishes he'd been able to replace his boots before now--and he's shivering pretty badly himself, but he keeps walking as well, tucking his tablet halfway into his coat so the camera can still mark his progress while his hands are left free to be tucked into the relative warmth of his armpits.]

So you can tell the difference between a man looking for fun, a man looking to marry, and a man who claims he's looking to marry but will abandon you the moment you're with child? [...He might have slipped into protective dad mode a bit there. Sorry.]
kindlings: (thoughtful)

[personal profile] kindlings 2015-06-02 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That gets another breathless laugh from her. ]

Y'think I can't raise a child on my own? If a man gets me with child and's too weak t' stick 'round, I'll raise 't m'self. Won't be pinin' after 'im to help me.

[ She huffs, trudges on. There might be a note of bitterness there, if his dad mode can detect it. ] A man's only 's good as his word. Naught else.
