What? Nothing! Nothing's wrong. Unless you heard something. Did you?

[ Yeah, she's jumpy as heckie. And approaching the vending machine too, because guns. GUNS. ]

If you do hear anything, yell. Because Jack kept stalkers in there, and they can turn kinda invisible, and Iunno how well the security has held up in his absence. It's probably fine. Probably. But we should buy - we should procure a gun. Some guns. How - er, how do you feel about getting them for free, but potentially pissing off one of the biggest arms dealers on the planet in the process?

[ WELCOME TO PANDORA INTENSIFIES ]

I'm the one who'll be going back to my own world in a few hours, scott free. How do you feel about it?

[He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his puny twentieth-century pistol. This is fine.]

Conflicted, mostly. But I doubt he or his friends would be overly enthused about Handsome Jack's daughter being alive and well whether I steal from them or not, s-- dude what the actual heck is that even. Is that supposed to be a gun?

[ THE DISDAIN FOR THAT GUN. IT IS ALL-CONSUMING. Enough so that it makes her mind up for her, and she places a hand on the vending machine. ]

Executing phase shift. You might wanna grab these fast.

[ "These" being the little avalanche of guns pouring from the vending machine slot. They're mostly Hyperion brand - and therefore bright yellow - but there are a few exceptions in there. A Torgue brand rocket launcher, most notably. For people who like more explosions per explosion!™ ]

[Wow, Angel. Rude. He gives her a stern look, because he likes his gun, thank you very much, and it kills just fine. But these newfangled ones are fascinating, and so with his pistol still in his hand (he's not going to put it away until he figures out how to fire one of these bigger things), he goes for that rocket launcher.]

I haven't got the slightest idea of how to fire one of these, you realize.

[phaseshifter]

Carefully is how. That one is - it's kind of explodey. For taking out the big guys! Or for just making a lot of noise.

[ She gingerly picks up a shotgun - you don't need to be good at aiming to shoot things with those, right? That'll probably be suitable. ]

Test it out before we go in, maybe. Try and hit - Iunno, that old road sign?

[ She points towards the sign in question, located far enough away for it to be safe, then aims her shiny new gun to try it herself. Point and fire, right? Simple.

Until she does so and the recoil sends her sprawling backwards onto her ass. A++++++++ BEST SHOOTING LESSON EVER ]

[Angel, that is not very encouraging. He holds his rocket launcher with two hands, because he's a sensible gangster.]

Where's the trigger?

[phaseshifter]

[ SO EMBARRASSING. She hops to her feet and tries to look like she isn't bothered by her spectacular failure. And fails, because seriously, wow. ]

It's - further back. There.

[ She's about to touch it to demonstrate, then thinks better of it and just. Points. No touchie. ]

You, uh, might wanna be careful.

[devoutish]

[He notes the trigger, steadies the weapon, and then takes aim. He's expecting a big kickback - he'd handled bigger weapons than pistols in the war - but this one takes even him by surprise. He doesn't fall on his ass, but he stumbles backwards, reaching out to steady himself against the wall.]

Well - could've been worse, I suppose.

Angel, was it a very bad idea to let you convince me to come here?

[phaseshifter]

Oh, yes. Probably. Almost definitely. But it's - you know! The authentic Pandoran experience. Shoot at things, scream a lot, try not to die. Just like the natives do!

[ The shotgun is abandoned in favour of a pistol. Several pistols. Two spares go in the pockets of her Norfinbury coat, and another gets examined briefly before she offers it to Alfie. ]

It's Hyperion! Which means it's the most accurate thing you'll ever fire. Oh my god I sound like such a shill.

Do they have safety catches? You'll want to make sure those are one before you go shoving them into your pockets.

[He can see you have very little experience with these things, Angel. He's helping.]

Safety catches? For guns? As in gun safety?

[ THAT IS A FUNNY JOKE ALFIE

Yes, we do not like to blow our fucking balls off.

[GOD, YOU PEOPLE. He's going to hold this flame thrower in his hands, with the barrel pointing away from them.]

Yeah, um, that isn't a concern for half of us.

[ MATURE SNICKERING. ]

And most injuries are pretty easily treated. That's what that machine is for.

[ She points out the machine in question, then has the grace to look vaguely sheepish. Um. ]

They - those ones also sell shields. I should... probably grab some of those too, huh.

[devoutish]

We could leave.

[Why has that possibility not been offered up yet, Angel?]

[phaseshifter]

I guess we could. If you don't care about seeing real live skags.

[ And who doesn't want to see the horrifying hellbeast puppies? GOSH. Angel looks put out for a moment before letting out a soft oh and clapping her hands. ]

But! If we do leave, we could - instead of using the fast travel station, we could use the Catch-a-Ride and get a vehicle! That'd be fun, right? I hacked myself access a long time ago, so it wouldn't even cause any fuss!

[devoutish]

[Ugh, Angel, he is too old for this shit. He likes his danger to come in the form of psychological games and manipulative trickery. Kids these days, with their gigantic guns and dangerous planets and horrifying monsters.

But okay, he's curious.]

Catch-a-Ride; show me that. Is that a taxi service?

[He's going to hang onto this flame thrower even if they leave, though. It's awesome.]

Heck, no. Would you be willing to drive crazy people around Pandora for a living? The Catch-a-Ride system is a - mmmm. Call it a vehicle delivery service?

[ Now is. Probably not the time to explain how digistructing works. She makes her way over to the Catch-a-Ride and begins tapping away at the interface. ]

What's your favourite colour? And - erm, stay off the big metal plate on the ground there. It's kinda dangerous.

[He eyes the plate, doing as she asks.]
