[ Rhys thought the black and white thing was just in pictures. That the Ye Olden Tymes had color.

He thought wrong.

Perhaps he should've dressed a little less... Rhysishly. He's still rocking bright teal, red, and asymmetrical pinstripes. No robotics on display, thank whatever deity you please - just an eyepatch and a pinned-up sleeve.

Still, the man sticks out. ]

[ And yet still manages to get lost in a crowd. ]

[Rhys is getting stared at. A lot.

Some people are subtle about it - they give him frequent, furtive glances, but try not to make eye contact. Others don't bother with that, opting instead to gape open-mouthed. But when he says Alfie's name, one man (dressed in a hat and a long black coat) pipes up.]

Alfie Solomons?

[Alfie Solomons isn't the only Alfie in Camden Town, but they're close enough to the bakery that it's not hard to guess who he's looking for.]

[ The shouting thing, that is really not helping with the staring. He quiets down, suddenly a little more self aware. ]

-- that Alfie. Can you, uh, take me to him? He knows who I am.

His office is down by the canal. Big warehouse, you can't miss it.

[The man is younger, but his accent is similar to Alfie's - Cockney London, through and through. He looks at Rhys, openly curious.]

Where are you from?

Awesome.

[ He's so, so giddy about this. Giddy enough to playfully mess with the kid doing the escorting.

Just a little. ]

And me, well. You would believe me if I told you.

[ He just points up, leaving it vague, and more than a little weird. ]

[He's giving Rhys an even weirder look now.]

They're not gonna let you in the front door.

Is there a password, orrrr does he have to meet me outside?

[devoutish]

[The guy laughs.]

Alfie Solomons? He's not gonna meet with you at all, looking like that.

[He's totally wrong, because the second Alfie hears that there's a weird man in weird clothes wandering around looking for him, he's going to swear loudly and rush out to see which Norfinbury fuck is making a spectacle of themselves this time. But this random guy off the street doesn't know that.]

[ Oh, it's going to be like that, is it? Rhys (probably foolishly) decides to use his height as an intimidation factor. The only one he has, considering the rest of his build, and the missing body parts. ]

Shows what you know. Alfie and I, we've been through some shit.

[devoutish]

[The guy narrows his eyes, backing up a little.]

I don't want no trouble. Go find him, if you like.

[headjacked]

[ HaHA. SUCCESS. Rhys strides confidently towards the warehouse, and if he meets any more opposition -- ]

Hey. I'm expected.

[ ...s...orta. ]

[devoutish]

[NOT SO FAST, RHYS! Ollie is at the door, doing his Ollie thing. He crosses his arms, blocking the doorway.]

Who are you?

[Behind him, people are already rushing off to tell Alfie about the crazy guy.]

[ Briefly, Rhys feels like he's staring at a shorter parallel version of himself, but that passes. Because that's ridiculous.

He doesn't have two arms to mirror the gesture, so he just plants the one hand he has on his hip. ]

Rhys.

Alfie knows who I am.

[devoutish]

[Ollie's eyes widen a little. He clearly recognizes the name, even though he doesn't say so.]

Wait here.

[He's also not taking any chances.]
