Network Prompts
ONE: SEE THAT WE CAN SEE It's late and you're settling down for the night when you notice a strange light coming from... outside? Through the heavy snowfall, you can just make out the haze of glowing eyes in the distance. Dozens of them. It's difficult to tell through the window, but they seem to be staring directly at you. Since it's after lockdown, you can't get outside to investigate, but maybe others in town are seeing the eyes too. You'd better take to the Network to see what's going on.
TWO: BEHIND THESE HAZEL EYES You can't sleep. You've been trying, trying, trying. But every time you close your eyes, you see the eyes of the prophet etched into the insides of your eyelids. The symbol only seems to get brighter and clearer the longer you keep your eyes shut, the closer you get to drifting off. It chills you awake. Nothing seems to help. Maybe there are others on the Network who are having the same problem. Or, at least, someone who doesn't mind keeping you company through the long hours.
Action Prompts
THREE: THREE'S A CROWD You and your traveling companion are exploring what looks to be a perfectly normal building when you notice something strange carved into the wall. Is that an eye? Strange indeed, but what's stranger is that new carvings keep appearing, always where you're not looking. Soon, the whole room is full of eye carvings. Is your companion doing this? If not them, then who?
FOUR: THE KNIFE'S EDGE Most everyone in town still has eyes that are either glowing or shaped like the prophet's symbol, and your eyes are no different. These are the same eyes that made everyone attack each other a few nights ago. Every time you catch a glimpse of yourself, maybe in the reflection of a window or the video feed on your tablet, you feel a little sick. Unfortunately, your traveling companion's eyes look strange too, and they're the opposite of yours. Both of you are in danger if those murderous urges come back, which makes it difficult to trust each other after what you've been through. It's late at night when a dark thought crosses your mind--you do have a knife. Not that there's any reason to use it, of course... Right?

Or it could be indicative of a greater threat in the immediate vicinity.
Either way, there are very high risks at stake.
Steve worries his lip between his teeth as he thinks, his brow furrowed.]
We don't have time to check in with anyone else, do we. If we move, it has to be now.
[He takes a deep breath.]
Well. If you don't mind risking staying, I think we should stay. Maybe report in, if we can, and see if anyone else is running into all this. We'll just... have someone keeping watch tonight.

He had lived long enough where he had come to peace with his time on Earth or in this came Norfinbury. Death didn't scare him; it was part of life. So if it was dying here or dying out in the cold, he was not miffed at all by the prospect. Of course he would prefer to live, and he had no particular death sentence, but he was clear on the risks already.]
Alright, son, we stay. [Alexander would have personally made the same call, if only for the mystery of the painted eyeballs.] A watch would be useful, especially in the event of check in. We may have to keep in constant contact with others that are in the same situation as we are.
[He shifted his pack off of his shoulders, going about his business setting up for the night in their meager bare household as if the walls and ceiling were being cluttered up with prophet eyes.]
I'll take the first watch.

[He didn't look at Pierce as he said it, going through the motions of settling in himself. Logically m he knew that it was just a casual term of endearment, but Steve didn't like it. It unsettled him a little, sometimes, the way Pierce was easy and familiar but distant at the same time.
Besides, he wasn't a kid. Just because he's small doesn't mean he should be treated like one.
He pulled out his night blankets and wrapped himself up before getting out his ration for the evening and slowly making his way through it and looking over the notes he'd made durable that day's exploration. Pierce said he'd take first watch, but Steve coutell he wouldn't be able to sleep any time soon.]
So. [He kept his voice casual.] You've mentioned you know Bucky. How?

Pierce set out his blankets and his pack of supplies, settling them down in a corner of the room that allowed him full visibility. The eyes of the prophet were plastered all over now, glaring down at them, but beyond that, there was nothing that he felt unusual about the place, no malevolent presence to haunt them so far. The doors hadn't yet locked, which he knew was the time for those kinds of changes to one's surroundings.
He leafed through his backpack of supplies, pulling out some food and a bottle of water, setting each out as he also grabbed paper and a pencil too. It wasn't time to sleep, but in the same breath, this was the only time to write down anything of interest for himself.
He glanced up at Steve and raised an eyebrow.] Did I?
stop me if i go too far
Earlier today. You asked if I knew anyone here and I said Bucky, and you said "oh yes."
[He did look up then, taking the time to see how Pierce would react. Sure, it wasn't actually an explicit admission of acquaintance, but it was clear Pierce was familiar with Bucky, or even familiar with the idea that Steve and Bucky were friends. It was enough to ask more about, which Steve hadn't at the moment because the conversation had shifted, and it wasn't the right time.
But now they've got nothing but time.]

He's on a dangerous person list in this place. Killed and injured some people here, but he seems to be out of his head at times. It's probably the affects of living in Norfinbury.
[He shrugged his shoulders, picking at the food that he had laid out and watching Steve in return. Lying would not get him exactly where he wanted right now, so he lay in wait.]
You've been in contact with him through the network, is it?
