I... I don't know. I want to believe that no argument would be so great you couldn't still at least talk, but I don't know what you're disagreeing over.

I just think sometimes maybe we don't try to talk as much as we should. People in general. We fight because we believe we're right, but being right doesn't make you feel better.

You really don't have anything that you would stop being friendly with someone over?

I lost a lot of friends, actually. I made a deal with some people because I didn't- I didn't want to have their men come after all of ours. Because we're trying to be heroes, and going against the public would defeat the whole point. I agreed to a buy out of sorts, as long as I could keep control on the ground level.

It was that or a lot of death, but it was never a good deal.

You lost friendships because they chose to cut you off over this. Yeah?

I was on the other side of the proverbial wall. We fought. But- There were families. Kids. At least on my side I could keep the men away from them.

I knew they'd cut me off.

We disagreed because they thought it would be better to go on the run and fight than compromise with the government. Maybe that sounds better, but the public, the normal people, they wanted to know we weren't going to just start killing them and there wasn't any trust left. So I tried to give them something to trust.

And it... worked. People stopped hating us on principle. And now a lot of my friends hate me. But I think they're at least starting to like each other again.

I think a lot of heroes would disagree with you. I did something I believed in and it pissed off half of the people I knew. But I think that the overall good, the chance to keep going, that makes it worth it.

I guess I could have agreed with them. I just don't.

No, no - I only mean the bit about them hating you, but liking each other.

It takes time. I mean, I don't expect them to brush it all off. Some of them really did hate each other a little after we drew the lines. My point is that I don't think it'll last. I think, I hope, that loyalty and common interest outweighs personal disagreements.

I can't say for sure, but I did everything I could to give it a fighting chance. Now I'm just working and waiting.

Tell me which is better. To kill one to save many, or to spare that one - who will go on to kill others - so that you don't have to think of yourself as a killer?

I'm a killer myself. I have no fucking problems with disposing of troublesome people when I deem it necessary. And I do know, right, that not everyone is like me. I don't blame him for struggling with the idea.

Because he isn't making the right choice, in the end. He's deciding that being able to call himself good is more important than anything else.
