Character name and canon: chaos | Xenosaga

About them: A tiny ex-military mixed martial artist who works as the security heavy for a crew of interstellar smugglers.

chaos is very calm, kind and gentle and prefers taking things easy. He is generally friendly to everyone he meets and loves everyone he meets even if he does not always necessarily like them. He tries to be honest with people but refuses to give false hope so he doesn't sugarcoat things or shy away from harsh, painful truths. His philosophical mannerisms and the sadness in his eyes hint at his true age.

He's existed in his current form for several thousand years at least and before he had a physical from he simply existed as Anima. As Anima he's been around since the birth of the dimensional universe making him around thirteen billion years old.

He's the closest thing that exists to an angel in his own world but is never actually referred to as one. His existence and powers are explained as being rooted in quantum physics, not magic and he considers his creator to be the will of the universe. If a gun were held to his head he'd say he's only as divine as humanity wants him to be.

chaos's primary function in his world is to be one of the two beings that drive the engine of human consciousness. By chaos's power human will can express individuality and independence but this same power is unraveling the collective unconscious. To counteract this chaos will one day have to reunite with his power and ignite it, destroying the dimensional universe and its attached unconscious layer before the unraveling can spread to higher domains.

...To put all of that in less "what?" terms, he is his universe's harbinger of the Apocalypse and he would very much like to not be. He's not sure why his universe allows him to exist if the very fact of his existence is so dangerous. The fact that he is in Norfinbury and Norfinbury has a timer on it worries him.

Current plans: I've been tossing ideas around but the absolute concrete definite plans right now are chaos is going north from the Ice Tunnels to gather food and then going to visit Andromeda before bringing food out to the Industrial Sector.

Without any of his powers some of his preternatural calm will start to crack the longer he's in game. He is also learning how to be mortal and still has not instinctively figured out things like how often he should eat, how to keep warm, how much rest is adequate for function etc.

Desired CR: Anything, he's new! Friends, enemies, companions... One thing I would LOVE is an excuse to explore his morality. For all of his apparent goodness, chaos takes part in below board dealings all the time and used to work doing covert military missions for the government. He will fight dirty if he has to. This is a guy who wound up working on a crew by winning all of the crew's money in poker and holding the money hostage until everyone agreed to do what he said. So don't worry about throwing complicated CR his way I would love to see where it goes.

chaos is also a good shoulder for characters to lean on if they need someone to talk to. Obviously CR might have to build up to that point but he never shares other people's secrets and never judges.

Not looking for: Romance is probably not going to happen.

The Joker

Character name and canon: The Joker | DC Comics

About them: A psychopathic, mass-murdering clown. He commits crimes based on what he thinks is funny. While he is extremely dangerous, it is possible to cross his path and be unharmed if he sees no humor in hurting someone.

Lately he's been mourning the death of Harley Quinn in his own dysfunctional way which makes him even less predictable than usual.

Current plans: Suffering a loss of humor as a death cost. Beyond this he's going to be circling the residential district to resume poking at trap doors.

Desired CR: Always up for more ways for him to ruin other characters' lives! Also villain-friend CR, more enemies, people to manipulate, all of it.

Not looking for: Romance is obviously not going to be happening.
