Network Prompts
ONE: TIME TO CHECK WEBMD
You've found the pharmacy, which is really convenient, since you're not feeling that great. Actually, you're feeling terrible. Maybe you have a fever, maybe you're coughing up blood, maybe you're vomiting... Whatever it is, you should probably try to get some medicine for it. Well, if you can figure out what it is. Maybe someone on the network can help you out? Alternately, you know exactly what you have--but for whatever reason, the medicine here isn't something you can easily understand. You have to choose between a couple of options, and you don't know the difference. Hopefully someone on the network can tell you which will heal you and which will probably kill you.

TWO: NOT SO HELPFUL AVATARS
Every tablet has the option for a customizable avatar that will talk to you and keep your tablet in order. Maybe you set it up, maybe you never checked it. Either way, it keeps popping up unrequested and being sort of... Odd. Flickering, talking in strange, mechanical voices, offering advice that's unhelpful at best and actively harmful at worst... Maybe it's even telling the entire network some things you've been doing you'd rather everyone didn't know.

Time to call tech support. Unfortunately, the best option is other people on the network. Good luck.

Action Prompts
THREE: SCHOOL DAYS
You've ended up in the elementary school. Maybe you're grabbing more food, maybe you're exploring. Either way, this place is creepy; the atmosphere is the sort that gets the hair on the back of your neck rising (potentially metaphorically, if you don't have hair or a neck). It's not long before strange things start happening. The sound of running and screaming children, doors slamming in far off or nearby hallways, pianos playing... What's going on? It's hard to tell what's really happening from what isn't happening. Maybe someone who's also exploring has some idea.

FOUR: SUPPLY SCRAMBLE
You've just walked into a house, and look, there's fresh fruit sitting right out on the counter! How long has it been since you've had some of that? It'll definitely help provide some much-needed vitamins and maybe it will ward off scurvy and the like. There's even more than one piece!

...And there's more than one person here, too. So, what are you going to do? Are you willing to share, or are you prepared to stab someone over a pear? Time to find out just how badly you want that food.

rubikscomplex: (bored | next pls)

Let's do it, bro.

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-26 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lamer still. That's almost impressive.]

So, we're in a shitty, low-budget version of the Matrix on Ice. Perfect. I left my wallet in my other pants, so you'll have to wait on the fifty.

I like the way you think, though. Rocket boots would be sick. Personally, I'm holding out for a hoverboard. Tradesy if we each find what the other guy's looking for? [Banter with his new tech buddy is fun, but he is genuinely curious.]

Taking it these 'admin' guys have said something to you, then, Neo? Or are you playing Trinity here? If you're Trinity, I'm at least ten times more interested in the answer and you're hot.

baymaxing: (I'm wishing they could reach me)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-26 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
don't know if money would even be relevant around here so much as people probably trading supplies and resources they find around here if anything by my guess.

you find a hoverboard or anything we could use to make one, jim and i would be all over that. just a matter of finding the resources to do it.

as for the admin, personally haven't heard anything from them other than my initial wake up here, notices on who dies and a warning on that storm we had to stay inside. like we needed to be told at all when it was getting to like ten feet out there. and for the record, the name's hiro. so no, i'm not trinity. sorry to burst that bubble.
rubikscomplex: (product placement | here's the thing)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-27 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Good. I didn't have fifty bucks, anyway. I was really hoping I'd win.

You're being serious, though? You actually do hoverboards? I knew Japan was hiding something. If you are Japanese.

[He'll continue in somewhat broken, but serviceable Japanese:]

I'll take a ham sandwich. Where is the train station? Is this offensive? You're probably American, aren't you?

[And back to English.]

So, Hiro, is there anyone who has personally heard from the admin?

[He's not going to bother to introduce himself. Pay no mind.]
baymaxing: (I've got the scars from tomorrow)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-27 08:12 am (UTC)(link)
and people say i hustle them at bot-fighting.

but as for japan having hoverboards. i wouldn't know. i grew up in san fransokyo. and yeah, i'm fluent enough to laugh at that. half japanese, actually.

nobody has personally heard from them, no. at least not that i know of. but i only got here more recently in comparison to others so maybe someone else might know more on that if you ask around.

[Yeah, he notes the lack of introduction but figures the guy will eventually if he wants to.]
rubikscomplex: (meet cute | be nice)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-27 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
You do robot wars? Cool hobby, bro. [Is that an almost genuine hint of interest? Possibly. Robot wars are a step off from monster trucks, after all, and House is a fan.] Got a sweet name for your best bot?

[He's going to just assume the guy is being 'cute' about the name of his town. Little Tokyo in San Francisco is probably what he means.]

Also, how long have people been running around Snow Hell?
baymaxing: (Mummified my teenage dreams)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-28 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
Not so much wars as one on one. Which is totally legal. It's when you bet on matches that it's. You know. Less legal. But Megabot has won every fight so far.

[Until he was dragged to SFIT and chose to take up studying there instead. Which isn't to say he might not still check out some local fights when he has time, but he's not near as often seen around the scene anymore. Which is probably a good thing, since Tadashi is not there anymore to bail him out when people get pissed at the tiny nerd hustling them.]

Well, my brother's been here about a month, apparently? Something like that.
rubikscomplex: (neutral | looking up)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-28 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Psh! Legal is for weaklings and future scrapheaps. Megabot, huh? I can dig it. Personally, I'd go for La Poupée Sanglante, but I'm a traditionalist. [And again, there's that hint of actual enthusiasm.] Sucks balls you didn't get to bring it with you. I find any tech, I'll let you know so we can start getting something together. [House? Helping someone else? Well, when they're going to build him a sweet robot or hoverboard, he's all for it. Probably not the hoverboard, but a guy can dream.]

A month in the arctic circle? Not bad. Tell him congrats, he might survive a Jersey winter. They're kidnapping connected people at different times, though. Interesting. [His tone turns marginally more serious at the end there. That is actually interesting. Whoever they - the admin - are.]
baymaxing: (Caught up in building 'paradise')

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-29 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, House. You get him. A lot more than most others who would be more likely to want to smack him upside the head for his behaviour and hobbies prior.]

i'd show you if i had him here. best i can do is try recreate some of the plans, the sketches i made when making him and planning it. but sure, if you find anything that would be awesome!

no idea what to make of the different times. i mean it was, like, 2032 for me. but i've heard from others here that are from after or before that. way before. so it's hard to say exactly. you'd think they'd keep us somewhat more modern guys away if they don't want us messing with any potential tech or whatever.
rubikscomplex: (possibility | yeah maybe)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-29 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[Precocious current and former kids gotta stick together. Most people want to smack him upside the head for his behavior even now.]

2032. [That he doesn't believe for a second, but they're talking hoverboards and rocket boots. Let's just roll with it.] I was actually talking more months rather than years. Unless they kidnapped your brother in an alternate timeline. [Why not throw out every ridiculous sci-fi trope?] I mean, I'm from 2005, but those time machines they build in the 2050s are great for getting a little perspective on everywhen, huh?
Edited 2015-08-29 22:52 (UTC)
baymaxing: (That you're the antidote)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-30 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
well. months are possibly more tolerable to miss than outright years. no idea how this works, exactly. but it isn't like we've figured a way back.

[Not. That he intends to potentially ever mention the fact of Tadashi's death and how that would obviously change things in that of course nobody would have noticed him missing after the explosion and his funeral. Depending on the timing. Still has yet to meet with his brother and doesn't want to bring up the timing yet.]

2005 is probably among the closest timelines to mine so far, honestly.
rubikscomplex: (suspicious | sideways)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-30 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
[House glances down at the message for a long moment. If this is a joke, Hiro's delivery is deadpan to the point that even he is having trouble determining if the guy is being serious. He keeps his tone light and flippant as he responds.

Is Hiro delusional? Working off some special, Japanese calendar?]

Everybody else from the 18th century?
baymaxing: (Not a soul to betray)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-30 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
well, seems people are brought here from various times. hard to really pin down much of a pattern, but we are trying. made a post with these tablets to get some basic information on people, including what year it was back home. it's just me and tadashi from 2032 though. 18th century is like, what, the 1700s or whatever, right? not sure if there's anyone from then, need to check.
rubikscomplex: (srs | considering)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-30 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Unless I missed the Delorean out on the frozen pond, you realize that's impossible, right? Like... I don't mean to harsh your groove, bro, but they were probably all lying.

[Like house is assuming Hiro is lying. Why he might be lying is beyond him, but hey. Why comes after the recognition that everybody lies.]
baymaxing: (Is all it will take)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-30 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
what, back to the future? man that's old. but. no, pretty sure you saying you're from 2005 and me being from 2032 is proof enough. let alone the others. most of them seem to have next to no idea on technology around here because they're from so early on in comparison.

[Which is. Just sad, honestly. Hiro could hardly imagine being without his tech. It's been hard enough here with just the tablets, let alone a world without it at all full stop.]
rubikscomplex: (possibility | or maybe)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-30 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I was sort of assuming you were lying, too. You know. For the joke.

[Which he's still assuming is there. Guy's good if he's keeping things up at this point. Or he's pathetic.] If you're going to say you're from the future, though, dare to dream and go big. 2132 sounds way cooler than 2032.

And what's the average age-range around here? I'm guessing over 65 if most other people can't figure out a tablet. Geriatric snowpocalypse. Cool.
baymaxing: (Living a dream)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-30 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
not saying i don't have a sense of humor, but. nope. any one of us that's been here any length of time longer than you showing up could confirm what i'm saying here. but sure, i could do that. just to mess with people. i mean tadashi would probably smack me over the head and correct me but still.

as for the age-range, it varies i think. but kind of hard to tell when not everyone around here is exactly human so. i'm not sure.

[He'll keep that in mind though. 2132 totally does sound way more awesome. Kind of harder to mess with people when his brother would likely hover around and stalk his activity with the tablet and not let the younger Hamada out of his sight in person, but still.]
rubikscomplex: (suspicious | trust issues)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-30 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Mass hallucination's looking more and more likely here, then. [Hiro will hear the sound of something popping, then a rattle in the pause that follows. This conversation calls for a Vicodin. Clearly. At least Hiro isn't warranting two of them. For now.]

So, what age-range are you? I'm guessing... 13? Most guys past their teens don't worry about their big brothers smacking them over the head for screwing around with people. Also, Back to the Future is classic, not old.

[House is just going to focus in on the part of this conversation that doesn't make him want to throw up his hands. It's clearly a mass hallucination that Hiro believes at the moment, and he doesn't want to bang his head against that wall until he can find something to limit the effects.]
baymaxing: (But you will remember me)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-31 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
not entirely wrong there, either. i mean, there was one thing a few days back with a major storm where we were seeing things.

[For Hiro? Of course he hallucinated that the place was on fire. More a wonder it hadn't happened prior for cabin fever, staying in the place for days before.]

fourteen, actually. and you wouldn't say that if you had to deal with tadashi, okay. not saying i don't like the films. it's just old.

[But a lot of things House enjoys Hiro probably considers old. Don't get him started on video games.]
rubikscomplex: (hmm | doctor)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-08-31 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[House narrows his eyes at the mention of the hallucination. Tadashi can wait. This sounds important. At the very least, his tone and demeanor don't change the slightest with knowing Hiro's age. Age has never mattered to House unless it's medically relevant, after all.]

What things were you seeing? Everyone was hallucinating at once, or just you?
baymaxing: (Ashes)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-08-31 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
can't say for everyone. but for me? i was the place i was staying in on fire. but i think it was a lot of us if not all of us during the storm. got worse over the course of the day. that's when i left and shifted to the other building nearby.

[Glad this is over text on his end because fire still terrifies him in the aftermath of the expo back home and all. But it is a relief that House doesn't seem to care on his age. That detail has so far more often than not had others all the more worried over him.]
rubikscomplex: (aside glance | well i mean)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-09-01 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
[14-year-olds who can hustle at bot fights clearly have game. And it would be unconscionable, worrying more about one person than another. House is really an equal opportunities kind of carer. Obviously.]

Pyrophobic? Or did you just get lucky with an hallucination turning something useful here dangerous? [Because he could go for a fire right now. Maybe not a whole house fire, but a fire.]
baymaxing: (The monster that you see)

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-09-01 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
pyrophobic? i hadn't actually thought about it as an actual diagnosis before you mentioned it. but there was a fire back home, so that. probably explains mine at least?

[Fire is good when under controlled conditions. But Hiro's now a little terrified of starting one himself even under such conditions as a result.]
rubikscomplex: (srs | hmm)

'Grats, Hiro! You have gotten House serious for more than five seconds. You are a true hero.

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-09-01 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Anyone here apart from big brother who knows about the fire? Actual big brother, I mean. Not Big Brother. This would be a crap reality TV show. Unless there's a hidden hot springs the girls are meant to find. Alternatively, it's not doing bad for a dystopian future.

If it's personalized, that means our admin knows something about us if it's something they're physically manipulating. Which makes sense. Better to get papers on the lab rats you're collecting. On the other hand, drugs designed to induce hysteria, confusion, and generally stimulate the amygdala fit, too. Stick someone in a box and rattle them around long enough, they'll figure out their own fears to project.

Do you remember smelling anything strange before the hallucination set in. Did you eat or drink anything you hadn't before?
baymaxing: (My childhood)

achievement unlocked!

[personal profile] baymaxing 2015-09-01 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
it's not something i'd mentioned before now, no. so i don't think anyone else would know.

[Unless Tadashi mentioned something. But it is more something Hiro's avoiding talking on than bringing up to figure how much his brother knows. Regardless, the mention on hot springs gets a bit of an eyeroll, even if the warmth would be appreciated.]

i guess that's possible though. the only supplies we have are what they provide us so. the food and water we have could be drugged or something for all i know.

[Clearly Hiro wasn't already paranoid enough already.]
rubikscomplex: (srs | wise house)

[personal profile] rubikscomplex 2015-09-01 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Fire back home equals paper trail. [House relaxes against the wall in the house he's cooped up in, looking up toward the ceiling and letting his mind start to turn.] It's a leap for anyone to get to pyrophobia from that... Were you injured in the fire?

You said you moved houses, though. Did the hallucinations persist there?
