Character name and canon: Flynn Carsen – The Librarian (Movieverse)
About them: Flynn is a bookworm turned adventurer. Meaning, he's a horribly tropey Indiana Jones knock-off, only he's a total nerd, socially awkward and his job prior to Norfinbury was to find magical artifacts and keep them safe. Basic rundown of his premise: There is a Library, a general sanctum under New York Public Metropolitan, where magical artifacts are stored and kept safe from the world. Some of the Library's items include the Spear of Destiny, Pandora's Box, the Holy Grail and Noah's Ark (it's a big Library.)
Flynn is the Librarian (capital L), meaning he is tasked with traveling the world and finding these artifacts, fighting evil cults who try to use them for their Evil Plans and preventing magic from destroying the world. In the frame of his universe he's surprisingly capable at it. In Norfinbury that's a different story altogether.
He spent the first 30 years of his life at university and has a ridiculous amount of degrees. His specialties are languages, literature and ancient cultures. He also used to be ridiculously good at reading information off people which I've completely nerfed away from him. He hasn't told anyone this but it is bothering the HELL out of him. He's also an avid fencer because in his world he wields Excalibur. You know. Regular stuff like that.
Current plans: At the moment he's headed for Residential 3. He is very disturbed by all the "let's solve mysteries by cutting the skin from our... skin and also murder each other" that is going around and he's adamant on trying to gather information in different ways. He's currently headed to inspect a "27" inscription and will probably try lots of different futile things to get a reaction.
With Nicole arriving he's also a bit of a jumbled mess of emotions right now. She is extremely special to him so that has him going from "oh no" to "OH NO" to "my heart is so happy about this, where do I put it". Which means he might be really stupid for a while, about pretty much everything.
Desired CR: Each and all of you beautiful people, I am having the time of my freaking LIFE in this game, sob. But more specifically, I would love more negative CR with Flynn. He's really nice and right now gets along with a lot of people not you, Gen so I'd love more fallouts in general.
I'd also love the opportunity for him to prove that he can actually fight a little if he has to. It only tends to come out when push REALLY comes to shove, so push to shove would be neat.
Not looking for: With Nicole having just arrived I would really like for him not to die for a while so they get a chance to talk. ... We'll see how that goes with the 27 riddle.
He's trying really hard not to?? (In fact I'm trying to stave that off for as long as possible because I think it's really gonna mess with him, with surviving being so vital to being the Librarian and all)
Oh, he so wants to meet up with her! And then be really torn because he doesn't want to face her. But yes. But no. He might even be stupid and dig a hole pretending they're still traveling together in his time depending on how their conversation goes idk. God I'm so excited for their meeting!!

he'd need the proper motivation to like, threaten Flynn's girlfriend or something, but if he shows he has skills in a sparring match Squalo might be pretty persistent about getting a fight out of him

Since Flynn and Peter are great friends, I'd love for Rocket to see him that way too eventually. In the beginning though, maybe there could be some verbal pushing and shoving that leads to physical pushing and shoving I'M JUST SAYING.
YESS that would be awesome, yes to all of this! The thought of Flynn trying to fend off the angry raccoon has me in stitches already. So much screaming and flailing. So much.
I laughed at the thought too. And the idea that at some point, Peter would have to watch some of this happen in frustration (Hi Indy!) and need to break it up.
The nice thing about Rocket here is that he has no guns, and he rarely tries to actually permanently injure anyone if he has no guns. So they can just get into an old-fashioned man vs. raccoon fight!
I am super enjoying the CR between Flynn and both my snowbos, both the thread re: House and the cow god with Ecks and Flynn and Stephen finally comparing notes on guarding the world from Bad Magic Shit.
I've been meaning to ask whether Flynn's still traveling with Peter? Because Stephen wants to travel with Peter. And, by extension, Rocket.
Me too! Especially the magical buddies thread, oh god it's so hilarious how many parallels they actually have! Flynn is also going to be 5ever jealous when he learns that Stephen actually has Levi with him in the city.
And yes, we should do movements! He's with John and Peter, yeah. I was thinking about having him split with John and Bucky because they were headed for Res 3 and Flynn wants to do his 27 puzzle but I think I saw a plurk about backtracking because Peter can't walk on his own?
If that takes enough time so Flynn learns about Nicole being in the city, that might change his plans... I'm out until later tonight but maybe we can just gather everyone on plurk and try to figure this out?

Yeah, I don't think we've figured out how to handle the meetup yet, because John's wanting to continue to Res 3 and Stephen (and Wilson) are never going to catch up if Peter doesn't stop moving south with that group. We'd talked about him waiting for Stephen to catch up, or backtracking with help. I'll be out at game night this evening, but I do think we should gather up and figure it out.
