About them: A tiny ex-military mixed martial artist who works as the security heavy for a crew of interstellar smugglers. He's gentle, wise, supportive and tries be a calming influence on people without ever sugarcoating harsh truths.
He wears an expression constantly brimming with thoughtful melancholy and he tends to wax philosophical more easily than he engages in small talk which can be tiring sometimes. Once he gets to know people his more playful side comes out.
...Also he's a thirteen billion year old light being/Gnostic aeon and harbinger of the apocalypse so he exists in a state of perpetual existential crisis but boohoo we all have problems.
Current plans: He's exploring the new area in Residential Zone 3 but doing a not very good job since roaming around in sub zero temperatures without his powers to protect him is mixing him up a bit.
He is trying to help people figure things out and takes a special interest in anything involving spirits.
Desired CR: Friends, enemies, companions... One thing I would LOVE is an excuse to explore his morality. For all of his apparent goodness, chaos takes part in below board dealings all the time and used to work doing covert military missions for the government. He will fight dirty if he has to. This is a guy who wound up working on a crew by winning all of the crew's money in poker and holding the money hostage until everyone agreed to do what he said. So don't worry about throwing complicated CR his way I would love to see where it goes.
chaos is also a good shoulder for characters to lean on if they need someone to talk to. Obviously CR might have to build up to that point but he never shares other people's secrets and never judges.
Not looking for: Romance is probably not going to happen.
About them: A psychopathic, mass-murdering clown. He commits crimes based on what he thinks is funny. While he is extremely dangerous, it is possible to cross his path and be unharmed if he sees no humor in hurting someone.
In Norfinbury he is a bit declawed and slightly more subdued than he usually is known to be in canon. He is still dangerous and unstable but less able to cause mayhem on the grand scale he used to enjoy, so he sometimes just gets cranky about things.
Joker can actually be a valuable ally when people need someone science minded to investigate something, provided they can coax him into behaving himself. He spends a lot of time testing things but can only get so much done on his own with limited resources and failing health.
Current plans: He's traveling through the Industrial Sector with Harley and Magenta, developing a lvl 1 obsession with Harley.
Desired CR: Always up for more ways for him to ruin other characters' lives! Also villain-friend CR, more enemies, people to manipulate, all of it.
Not looking for: Romance is obviously not going to be happening.
About them: A modern AU of everyone's favorite sidekick to Sherlock Holmes. John is an army doctor, a trauma surgeon, and PA to the world's only consulting detective. His canon point is just after watching Mary's 'death note' DVD to Sherlock on how to save John. He is aware that there is some sort of bizarre Victorian fictional version of him and his life. He's really not fine with it.
Personality-wise, John is generally polite and patient with just about anyone who isn't immediately a dick to him. He'll sass with the best of them if he's given a reason to. He's a compassionate doctor who wants to help everyone to the detriment of himself, and often will suppress and set aside his own issues to assist others. He's a little bit broken just at the moment after everything that's been piling onto him. Bucky's dragged him out of a complete spiral, but he's still working on getting his optimism back in order.
But really he tries to appear perfectly level and normal! He even manages it most of the time over the network.
Current plans: John is slowly making his way toward Residential Zone 3 with Flynn and Bucky to try to reunite with Sherlock and Mycroft and maybe Mary, if she gets her memories back. He might get side-tracked by Squalo, though. His major goal is to try to find a better microscope just at the moment, and contribute in some doctorly way.
Desired CR: Anything and everything. Some more negative CR that isn't just with villains might be fun as he pulls himself out of the Pit of Despair.
Not looking for: Death or anything too excessively horrible just at the moment. He needs to get back on level-ish footing before I break him again.
Character name and canon: Gregory House | House MD
About them: Sarcastic asshole, genius doctor, complete troll. House is a grumpy addict with an acerbic wit and a tendency to screw with people wherever he can. He's also intensely depressed and makes bad life choices about who to antagonize and what to do as a result, even while he pretends he's TOTALLY FINE most of the time. Those six murders and ten total deaths mean nothing. He's actually making an effort not to get murdered again... or die, in general. Although answers are still more important. Also, Will Graham is a terrible influence. House is currently dealing with more self-destructive impulses after Sherlock's death and feeling at least partially responsible for it.
(As a note for those new and familiar with the show. House used to have a limp, but this was cured after his first Norfinbury death. He no longer needs a cane.)
Current plans: House and Will are making through way through the Split Tunnels and will be out into the Industrial Zone by Day 299 if they don't... die after lighting a building on fire. House would like to take one of the corpses from the building in the northeast corner of the zone, drag it to the cultist funeral pyre buildings in the southwest corner, and burn it on the pyre to see what happens. Said body may or may not be chopped up with Will's axe and arranged artfully in a Prophet's Eye symbol before being burned.
He would like to also meet up again one day with his bestie, Wilson. 8(
Desired CR: As with John, any and all. House is very easy to get negative CR with. He's very plot oriented, as well, though, and that's an easy way to gain neutral or even positive CR with him, if it is so desired.
Not looking for: Can't think of much. House has been through a lot. He's been broken a few times. He's just suppressing most of his reactions to the level of trauma he's gone through. That probably won't work forever.
Character name and canon: Quark | Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
About them: A ten-year-old with a chip on his shoulder that's about as big as his weird snack hat. After his murder by John followed up with losing Luna, he's felt in a pretty bad way. His depression is on the rise, and he knows that he needs to be doing more to be helpful but it's hard enough for him to find the motivation to get up in the morning. He's been pretty macabre and short on the Network, but he just needs a bit of time to warm back up again. Current plans: He's just met up with Diana, but other than spending time with her and trying to lift himself out of the rut he's in, he's completely open for plans! He doesn't have any current projects, but no matter how awful he feels he's always ready to lend a helping hand. Desired CR: more friends for the boy please...more friends and more tasks. He needs to get busy so he doesn't feel so stagnant and helpless. Not looking for: him watching his close CR die! It's been happening a lot lately and it's really bringing him down, making him feel powerless to stop it. In general I'd like to avoid him dying for awhile too, but injuries are fine and welcomed! Other info:
About them: A big blonde with an even bigger heart. She loves sewing and fashion and flowers, and truly honestly wants to do what she can to be friends with everyone she meets. As long as the people around her are happy, she can convince herself that she's happy too. Only...that's been working less and less effectively. And since House called her out on her own game post, she's having a harder time making that argument convincing. Fraying at the edges, it's easy to see that she's tired, and doubting how worthwhile it is to keep trying. She's very homesick, but starting to question if there's anything left to go home to after the last event. Current plans: none! She's still traveling with America and England and just trying to take things one day at a time. I want her to die eventually but don't know when the best opportunity would be. I'd also like her to meet up with more people, even just for a night! Desired CR: more of everything, please! More friends, more negative cr, more people who can see through her forced smiles. I'd be happy to try and ship her again but she's very hesitant for anything serious after what happened to Clayton and Charlie. Not looking for: nothing I can think of! Other info:
Player name/preferred contact: Lae Laekhund Character name and canon: Will Graham | Hannibal (TV)
About them: At this point in his canon Will is a 'broken pony' and his moral compass tends to spin a little wildly, though it usually comes up north. Mostly. He points towards righteous violence and while he can now see the beauty in horror, he isn't interested in visiting that horror on innocents. He is still, at his core, a man who desires to enforce justice against those who have trespassed against innocents; just not necessarily within the confines of the law anymore.
He has been working to settle in to Norfinbury and if the fresh hell that he went through with his canon taught him nothing else, it taught him how to survive. He's not given to panic in the face of the monstrous acts visited upon them (both by the town and what they do to themselves) and this clarity of emotion allows him to remain focused and observant in situations where others might have their moral sensibilities overwhelmed by the nightmares.
Current plans: He is definitely caught up in the investigative side of what makes this town tick and moving around making questionable life choices with House. FOR SCIENCE! It's not driven by any desperate desire to go home, he believes he's probably dead back home, but rather his ingrained investigative nature coming to the fore. It might be a bit of a defense mechanism at work, protecting himself from the sheer W.T.F. of this place but he's curious enough to keep at it.
That and his darker side is kind of enjoying the experiments they get into with all this.
Desired CR: I am taking it as it comes! He's really jumped into investigations and experiments so he would be interested in other like minded, investigative type individuals. Beyond that I am always open to jumping into threads and just seeing where the characters take themselves. I've always found it works best that way.
Not looking for: Nothing in particular, though I am trying to avoid getting him killed in a "just because" scenario. There seems to be plenty of other ways Norfinbury can get you killed!
Other info:OOC/Opt Out I know his canon is very dark and disturbing. If there is ever any topics you'd like me to avoid in threads or if you need me to avoid tagging your character all together, please do not hesitate to come and let me know. It is screened, anon enambled and IP logging off.
Character name and canon: Flynn Carsen – The Librarian (Movieverse)
About them: Flynn is a bookworm turned adventurer. Meaning, he's a horribly tropey Indiana Jones knock-off, only he's a total nerd, socially awkward and his job prior to Norfinbury was to find magical artifacts and keep them safe. Basic rundown of his premise: There is a Library, a general sanctum under New York Public Metropolitan, where magical artifacts are stored and kept safe from the world. Some of the Library's items include the Spear of Destiny, Pandora's Box, the Holy Grail and Noah's Ark (it's a big Library.)
Flynn is the Librarian (capital L), meaning he is tasked with traveling the world and finding these artifacts, fighting evil cults who try to use them for their Evil Plans and preventing magic from destroying the world. In the frame of his universe he's surprisingly capable at it. In Norfinbury that's a different story altogether.
He spent the first 30 years of his life at university and has a ridiculous amount of degrees. His specialties are languages, literature and ancient cultures. He also used to be ridiculously good at reading information off people which I've completely nerfed away from him. He hasn't told anyone this but it is bothering the HELL out of him. He's also an avid fencer because in his world he wields Excalibur. You know. Regular stuff like that.
Current plans: At the moment he's headed for Residential 3. He is very disturbed by all the "let's solve mysteries by cutting the skin from our... skin and also murder each other" that is going around and he's adamant on trying to gather information in different ways. He's currently headed to inspect a "27" inscription and will probably try lots of different futile things to get a reaction.
With Nicole arriving he's also a bit of a jumbled mess of emotions right now. She is extremely special to him so that has him going from "oh no" to "OH NO" to "my heart is so happy about this, where do I put it". Which means he might be really stupid for a while, about pretty much everything.
Desired CR: Each and all of you beautiful people, I am having the time of my freaking LIFE in this game, sob. But more specifically, I would love more negative CR with Flynn. He's really nice and right now gets along with a lot of people not you, Gen so I'd love more fallouts in general.
I'd also love the opportunity for him to prove that he can actually fight a little if he has to. It only tends to come out when push REALLY comes to shove, so push to shove would be neat.
Not looking for: With Nicole having just arrived I would really like for him not to die for a while so they get a chance to talk. ... We'll see how that goes with the 27 riddle.
Player name/preferred contact: Haecceity (Plurk: haecceityofanelf) Character name and canon: Dorian Pavus from Dragon Age
About them: Dorian is a nerd who loves fire and books but preferably not at the same time. He's a comparatively good aligned character from an Evil Empire best known in-universe for slavery and blood magic.
He's helped save the world a time or two and as of his canon point is dedicating himself to overhauling his country's political system. He's capable of being sweet and caring but will usually defend himself with some level of assholery at some point. He's a lonely guy who doesn't have to be close to people to feel connected but who will also write people off without telling them.
Player name/preferred contact: Cherry/CherryFlight
Character name and canon: Enoch | El Shaddai
About them: Bronze Age dude invited to live in Heaven and then sent on a mission to capture some fallen angels. Overactive empathy, self-sacrificing to a fault (no, really, this isn't just lip service to ordinary selflessness, it has knocked him on his ass just as often as it actually does good if not more often). Intelligent, if currently unmotivated. Loves Earth and humanity and has absolute faith in mankind despite everything. Immortal and got the short end of the stick for it, by which I mean he had to live with mortals. And lose them, over and over and over... Recently reminded of this by a game event, but thanks to current company is comfortable with it. ...Which is why he doesn't have it anymore and has some gray hair scattered in sad wisps in the front. Fun times.
Been here since actual day one and horrendously traumatized. I mean, he was plenty traumatized before but it's much, much worse now. Current plans: Mostly tagging along with his current group and doing incidental things there because his motivation has been shot for a looong time now and he needs to borrow someone else's. Desired CR: I'm up for anything! Positive, negative, religious nerdery, bookish nerdery, random IC canon comparisons, IC theorizing, debates, arguments, inadvertent echo chambers, I love them all! Not looking for: Can't think of anything that some OOC discussion wouldn't fix! Other info:This showy spin was unnecessary in context, it's so dumb. He's tragic but he's a nerd.
Flynn might check in with him after the event since he's had some first-hand experience what it did to the immortal peeps, so maybe they can talk some more and discuss moralities/immortal life? :>
Player name/preferred contact: Mis brimstonemuse Character name and canon: Jared Rhys, Original Character
About them: Though he's sort of in crisis at the moment, Rhys is a street witch, healer, ex-convict, and general mess of a basically nice guy trying to figure out what the hell he's doing in Norfinbury and how to be useful. Back home, he's half demon and a recovering drug addict, and he's struggling with the loss of his powers in Norfinbury as well as actually revealing the fact that he's not human, which is considered an ugly secret in his world (and resulted in his family disowning him). Current plans: Right now, Rhys is hanging out in the High school in Residential Area 3, trying to figure out a way to get some doors to open up. He's on the verge of re-lapsing into drug abuse and bad behavior, due to basically one huge identity crisis with his powers gone, and due to Manic-Depression from his exposure sickness, is throwing himself at pretty much every bad idea he can. Which is a shame because he really is a nice guy, he's just frustrated at how useless he feels in the town, due to a string of recent bad luck and failures.
I also may or may not give him his first death soon, depending on how things continue. His recklessness and poor judgment should have a price, after all... Desired CR: Rhys is trying to get his footing right now, but honestly he's on the edge where pretty much anything could turn interesting! Friends and lovers are good to keep him steady and distract him from his issues, enemies are interesting for him to completely lose his shit at because he's reeeeeeally on the verge of it. Rhys has been a "nice guy" for most of his time in the game, but he's starting to lose his shit and I'm kind of interested in everyone seeing exactly what kind of dark side he's got when he breaks down. Not looking for: Not an awful lot I'll say no to, at the moment! I'm game to talking pretty much anything over. Other info:
How nice/helpful Rhys was during the TDM was very confusing for Rocket. WHY ARE YOU SO NICE there must be a reason.
But if Rhys needs to get into a big fight with someone and just get all that pent up emotions out of his system, Rocket is an easy raccoon to offer up for that. Also, the fact that he's struggling with this feeling of shame for being half-demon, the nice thing about Rocket is, he'll probably see that as a good thing (humans are overrated, except for Peter), so that could be some great positive reinforcement from someone too!
Player name/preferred contact: Dem / PM or jigglyballs Character name and canon: Squalo Superbi, Kateky Hitman Reborn!
About them: Squalo is a trained mafia hitman, expert swordsman and right hand man to the flaming disaster known as Xanxus. They run the world's best murdersquad (sorry, "elite assassination team" for their version on Earth's most powerful mafia family that's been making some goddamn stupid decisions lately). Their organization sort of balances between villain and grudging anti-hero in the series so it's not quite on evil evil levels, but it's also worth noting that in this setting (less violent) mafia are considered the "good" guys, so it doesn't amount to much.
Aside from his skills, Squalo is noted for insane loyalty to his boss and his bloodthirst; thriving in battle and looking for a good fight whenever he finds the chance has earned him the reputation of his namesake ("Shark").
In Snowblind he's been forced very far out of his comfort zone (murder pays well, so he hasn't had to live on scraps for a long time now). While he's still totally down to murder another human being for a sandwich or a warmer pair of socks, he tends to calculate his risks more carefully as he's not particularly interested in making himself be a target for public outrage the way he's seen some dudes seem to be.
He's been doing fairly well with that, aside from a few attempted muggings, however even though he hasn't talked about himself or his job with anyone, few people may have already picked up on some things thanks to his mostly dismissive attitude to death on the network and genuine confusion at traditional human decency.
Oh, and he may have publicly told Peter about his favorite methods of killing during the Time event. Whoops.
Current plans: He's still pretty shaken from the event - it ended in his death, and as a result he'd lost his memories of Xanxus for almost a week. Which resulted in him being completely baffled by his earlier behavior and questioning his sanity. You know, normal Snowblind stuff I guess. Even once his memory's intact again, thanks to the event he'll now occasionally consider things going to shit back home in his absence more than usual.
Still, he is very motivated to escape as soon as possible, so he will gladly join any ongoing efforts (so far he's got an invitation from Al and a lead from John) though he will obviously be... a lot less concerned about everyone's survival than others. Of course, he's not yelling about that from the rooftops.
He returned to the land of living on day 295, and for at least another day he's in the Radiation Zone. After that, I'm not entirely sure. Due to his mental state at the moment he's a bit reluctant to join up with anyone at the moment, and being alone might make it worse.
He may give the sealed building in the Industrial zone another shot at investigation (really, his previous attempt was less investigation and more making an ass of himself in an attempt to piss off the town enough to kill him permanently), or he might head south to check out the newer areas, since that's where the action is. He may not be a puzzle expert, but he gets shit done.
Desired CR: A bit of everything would be grand! It'd probably be good for him to find a group, though how long he'd stick around is another debate. I'd like him to actually contribute to the research and puzzle solving in some way. Someone he could genuinely bond with on some level would be lovely, and so would making some enemies or just get someone fed up with his shitty attitude/morality.
Also I'd be super excited for a situation where he helps out with a riddle and then backstabs a teammate (figuratively or literally) if he thinks it's the more effective way to deal with it. Or just any old "hey that guy isn't so bad WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST DO" coming out of the closet with a bang thing, since I know the cat's getting out of the bag sooner or later.
Not looking for: Actual romance isn't going to happen ever. But I mean if your character wants to try, more power to them. I'm generally up for anything.
Other info: While it doesn't necessarily come up a lot, it's better to play safe than sorry; I have an opt-out post for Squalo. Tl;dr in addition to already mentioned love for murder he has a strong "death before dishonor" mindset (though granted his idea of "honor" differs from the norm) which can result in suicidal themes, he has cut off his own hand as a teenager in case you had a pretty good opinion of his sanity so far, and finally his relationship with his boss can be a pretty strong shoutout to domestic violence.
"While he's still totally down to murder another human being for a sandwich or a warmer pair of socks"
royce in the distance: i mean, same, dude
No, but seriously, I think these two would be a trip. Royce is similar in the not really caring for morals thing, was an assassin/thief back home, and also has murdered people here and gotten away with it kind of sort of, so putting these two in the same place might be great or hilariously horrendous.
I'm not sure what they can get up to! Especially since they're sort of far from each other, but I'm gonna try to think of something.
Player name/preferred contact: Nabi (alchemicalheart) Character name and canon: Davesprite | Homestuck
About them: Davesprite's a half-crow, half-human, half-tail (legs are for other people), all orange, all sprite, weirdass disaster of a teen. Don't think about it too hard. Homestuck's just weird like that. Personality-wise he's fairly friendly and helpful with a solid dose of sarcasm, pop culture references, and something like the dumb hipster version of irony except if he'd been taught it was cool for 13 years only to be disillusioned about how he was raised. He's spent a good chunk of time fighting monsters in a video game that ended the world, time traveling to save dead friends, and then being devalued for being the weird orange bird version of himself. His life is complicated. He's also been in Norfinbury for about five months and accrued a good chunk of trauma through the experience. He is sorely in need of a haircut. Current plans: Davesprite's downtown right now, and Karkat (one of his travel partners) is set to die to anomaly on day 299 / will be stuck in the hospital until he revives, so he's prooobably not going to venture too far from the general area. Desired CR: Friends, people for bantering with, suggestions for helpful stuff to do around town, people to hassle him. I'm pretty open. Not looking for: Romance (already got that, for all he's keeping it on the downlow), people who would injure/kill him (I don't mind negative CR, but I'm not looking for stuff on that level at present). Other info:
About them: Peter is a basically a puppy in human form.
He's a music-loving space pirate who clings to 80's-pop-culture, makes friends easily and will defend those he cares about with his life. He's also very quickly goaded into arguments and likes to one-up people, especially if it's something he thinks he's good at. If he really likes you, he'll give you a song from his precious Zune.
Peter's adventures have consisted of killing/almost killing a bunch of people and stressing out about it, getting carried by Bucky because his knee got busted--thanks House--and then Bucky got killed by an anomaly and Peter had to drag himself in the snow to the next house, John rescues him after cabin fever sets in (thanks for distracting him from that, Flynn) and John and Peter meet up with Flynn just in time for an event to happen that makes Peter realize he's still potentially immortal and now has to deal with a buttload of memories about how much he basically turned into his father. Old!Flynn also beat him with a crowbar over the network.
Current plans: Peter's going off with Stephen and making his way over to pick up Rocket, also he vaguely wants to help with investigations but he has no idea what he can do and is frustrated by his injuries and how little he's done to contribute to anything here.
Desired CR: Anything and everything! Always love negative CR and the terrible, terrible consequences that follow. Not looking for: Can't think of anything! Other info:
Player name/preferred contact: Spencer, PM or flyawayblackbird Character name and canon: Rocket, Guardians of the Galaxy
About them: Rocket is a mechanical genius where nowhere to use his expertise right now. Back home, he invents anything from new weapons to tools, to things that let you fly.
He's also um ... very sarcastic and very angry at times, mostly because he's angry at the world for making him, and angry at himself for how lonely he is. Not that he'd ever admit that to anyone.
Rocket can also be very goal oriented, and he can tolerate a lot to achieve that goal. While he won't suppress his own distaste of someone, he'll still work with them. What a team player!
Finally, he treats his friends terribly on some kind of surface level, but he has your back when it counts. Making friends with Rocket won't be easy (or obvious) until a life or death situation — but that's when he'll show his true colors.
Current plans: Rocket is totally fresh meat, and also has an amazing track record of being able to break out of high-tech prisons, so he's not going to actually believe that he can't get out of here yet, no matter what anyone says. He's going to be poking around, pushing limits, and not entirely focused on making long term plans because he isn't convinced he'll be here long-term.
Desired CR: I'm not sure if the first month is too early, but while I know (and would love) to have some negative CR, I also want to put Rocket is these terribly awkward positions where people save his life and therefore he owes people something. It doesn't mean he'll be any less of a jerk, but he will try to return the favor. Also, I got a flavor of this on the TDM with Bluestar, but making friends with the very animal character here I think would do him a lot of good too!
I'm also really up for anything. The thing that makes me most anxious is negative CR carrying over OOC, because my overall RP experience suggests that it's hard for people not to take things personally (myself included!) but I would really love to work on that and have actual, gritty, movie-scene-worthy fighting/shouting/name-calling scenes with people.
HI HELLO I have no idea how their CR is going to shake out yet, but Davesprite can easily provide the more assholish, trolling kind of interactions or actual helpful, friendly sort. or both! even in the same convo! he's flexible like that. don't worry about me taking IC conflict personally OOC, either; negative interactions between characters can be super fun and I don't take them to reflect the player's opinion at all. also the whole being half-crow thing might come up pretty easily, depending how their thread goes.
Player name/preferred contact: Flurry Character name and canon: Royce Melborn; Riyria Revelations
About them: Royce is halfway to tsundere, in a phrase. He's a thief/assassin who is incredibly paranoid (and even more so right now, because thanks exposure effects). He's spent most of his life getting kicked around by his Tragic Past™ so that means he doesn't trust anybody, hates most people, and is very stubborn about being Independent. You'd think this doesn't often lend well to positive CR and YOU WOULD BE CORRECT. He's kind of a dick, but he's only a dick when it serves him, or when he wants to be left alone. But he isn't stupid, so he plays nice here, especially when he thinks you might be useful later. He'll talk to just about anybody but his conversations tend to start practically. Right now he's also incredibly depressed so he's way more likely to try to start a conversation because being lonely sucks.
Current plans: Right now, Royce is with Alfie Solomons, and they're kind of just wandering. I think at some point Royce is going to try to ask Watson to do a blood transfusion for him? But that'll be on hold because Karkat's dead so - other than that, Royce is sort of just wandering with Alfie, being sad and trying to be useful.
Desired CR: Friends! I'd really like Royce to have another person or two that he can like, be attached to. Maybe someone that he wants to take care of. That's hard to get him to do, but once he has a goal it's easier for him to not just lay on his face and be depressed. I'm also down for negative CR, as always, considering Royce can be sort of a dick. Not looking for: N/A - maybe not another death soon, but who knows. Other info:
Player name/preferred contact: Xep / esquivant Character name and canon: Bluestar from Warrior Cats
About them: She was the leader of a clan of star-worshiping feral cats in a forest in Middle of Nowhere, England. (Whether your characters notice she has a british accent is up to you, I don't bring it up in my writing.) Her ways are very tribal, believing in things like warrior ancestors and prophecies and herbal medicine. This can make her a little easy to dupe, but mostly because she's doing her best to keep an open mind in unfamiliar territory.
She's a little scared of humans, so she'll be slow to trust them. However, since she can now communicate with them she's at least going to try diplomacy wherever she can. She will love any contact she can get with non-humans, particularly earth animals and cats.
Current plans: Within the near future Bluestar may get the idea of trying to organize what few animals she can find into a sort of makeshift clan, grouping them together and traveling together for their mutual benefit. This is partly to make herself feel more at home, and partly to stave off the anxiety caused by Old Cat Syndrome mixed with having everything about her reality turned inside out.
If I stay in the game until late april/early may, Bluestar will develop dementia. I brought her in from before it really took hold, but the effects will start showing up during the turn of the year. Feline dementia runs in her family (most notably seen in her uncle), and it strikes her pretty badly in the books due to developing it during a particularly rocky part of her Clan's history. I'm not sure what state she'll be in during her in-game battle with the illness, but everyone's CR has the potential to affect it.
Desired CR: Obviously I want animal friends for her, but getting used to humans is also something I really want. She does, after all, need someone to handle putting on / taking off her kitty clothes. In short? Everything. Not looking for: Can't think of anything! Other info:
hi hi Davesprite is gonna be concerned about Bluestar because dangit House stop tricking people into dangerous experiments, plus the Cat has won a pretty big soft spot in his weird, half-avian heart. and his sister technically had a talking cat before Norfinbury even happened, because Homestuck is weird like that. tl;dr he'll try to help her how he can and explain Norfinbury and human concepts if she just asks.
About them: James is basically a bleeding heart guy who happens to be an oncologist because why not specialize in a field that deals with people who have a serious illness that doesn't discriminate between adults and children in terms of who it affects? Ahem.
He's very pleasant to be around and talk to, if not a bit buttoned up in terms of how he dresses/carries himself and how much he'll say at any given time. Though, if you know exactly what to say, he might find himself saying too much.
On some level, Wilson has issues with losing people. He's been married and divorced three times, mainly because of his inability to remain in long-term relationships, but there's also the fact that he is drawn towards needy people. Once he's helped them become less needy, they become less attractive. Or something like that.
But hey, if you want someone around who's generous to a fault and overall nice and pleasant all the time, Wilson's your man.
So far in his time in Snowhell (in no particular order), he's encountered an anomaly that looked like his deceased girlfriend; been murdered; turned into an automaton and then experimented on by his bestie House; and got old, disillusioned, and bitter. 8D
Current plans: Wilson's drifting around a little rudderless right now. The fake time event threw him a little. He really hated the person he became then, and although that's over now, he still has all these extra memories to sort out.
He's also seeing people become increasingly interested in investigations/solving puzzles/being generally useful and it's making him realize he's really not that useful. So in the near future, he might try a totally not dangerous or life-threatening experiment of his own to see what happens. Desired CR: Anything and everything, positive or negative. Wilson's great for reaching out to people, but he also manages to alienate/disgust people with his overly enabling habits. Not looking for: N/A, other than maybe not another death this soon, but I'm flexible. Other info:
Player name/preferred contact: Amanda (phurbur or PM)
Character name and canon: Harley Quinn | DC Comics
About them: Harley is a former psychiatrist turned clown criminal turned reformed anti-hero turned snowbo making terrible decisions. She's bubbly and upbeat with a habit of getting into trouble. Also pretty crazy.
Current plans: Harley is traveling through the Industrial sector with the Joker and Magenta. At some point, she'll be splitting off from that group because the Joker is developing an obsession with her due to exposure effects and it's a lot more uncomfortable when the shoe is on the other foot.
Desired CR: All of it! Looking for people to interact with her both before and after she splits from the Joker this month. Inboxes, logs, network posts, whichever. When by herself she'll especially be on the lookout for people to trade or travel with.
Not looking for: Nothing in particular comes to mind.
Other info: Sorry this is the shortest. I always end up having to post these on the go.
So which way is she gonna head from there because I could possibly have Squalo come up to Industrial zone and try to convince her to enjoy the obsession ride or something :'|
About them: Ecks is a two-and-a-half-year-old flesh golem (read: Frankenstein's monster) from a truly terrible fantasy world ruled by evil gods. She collects both stuffed animals and father figures and has terrible taste in the latter. She's very literal-minded and actually likes taking orders from others, though she does have her own morals and opinions and has done a lot of learning about the complexities of the whole free will thing. Current plans: Ecks is at a bit of a loose end right now. She'd been traveling with Mycroft, Dorian, and Kid to do some experiments after her efforts to talk to ghosts didn't get her much of anywhere, but since she murdered Mycroft she's lost her traveling party. Desired CR: Mostly right now I'm looking for a general direction for Ecks, which may mean joining another traveling group, taking on another sort of science assignment, or, you know, dealing with the fallout of having murdered someone (again). Not looking for: No romance; other than that I'm open (and really, she should face some kind of consequences for playing judge, jury, and executioner on Mycroft). Other info:
Psi's Lads
chaos
Other info: CR OPT-OUT
Xenosaga is a serious franchise for serious people.
And I have to pimp chaos's theme music at everyone (Image Theme/In the Beginning There Was...) because it's awesome.
The Joker

Character name and canon: Will Graham | Hannibal (TV)
FOR SCIENCE!It's not driven by any desperate desire to go home, he believes he's probably dead back home, but rather his ingrained investigative nature coming to the fore. It might be a bit of a defense mechanism at work, protecting himself from the sheer W.T.F. of this place but he's curious enough to keep at it.That and his darker side is kind of enjoying the experiments they get into with all this.
Other info: OOC/Opt Out I know his canon is very dark and disturbing. If there is ever any topics you'd like me to avoid in threads or if you need me to avoid tagging your character all together, please do not hesitate to come and let me know. It is screened, anon enambled and IP logging off.
Permission Post/Opt In for his creepy empathy intuitive thing.

He's really nice and right now gets along with a lot of people
not you, Genso I'd love more fallouts in general.I'd also love the opportunity for him to prove that he can actually fight
a littleif he has to. It only tends to come out when push REALLY comes to shove, so push to shove would be neat. Not looking for: With Nicole having just arrived I would really like for him not to die for a while so they get a chance to talk. ... We'll see how that goes with the 27 riddle.

Character name and canon: Dorian Pavus from Dragon Age
About them: Dorian is a nerd who loves fire and books but preferably not at the same time. He's a comparatively good aligned character from an Evil Empire best known in-universe for slavery and blood magic.
He's helped save the world a time or two and as of his canon point is dedicating himself to overhauling his country's political system. He's capable of being sweet and caring but will usually defend himself with some level of assholery at some point. He's a lonely guy who doesn't have to be close to people to feel connected but who will also write people off without telling them.
He doesn't think quite as highly of himself as he claims to and he is also very skilled at self-deception.
Current plans: Dorian is beginning to poke at puzzles but might give up in disgust
Desired CR: Pretty much anything
Not looking for: Anything is possible with enough OOC communication

Other info: This showy spin was unnecessary in context, it's so dumb. He's tragic but he's a nerd.

Mis/Ink!Rhys
Character name and canon: Jared Rhys, Original Character
Other info:

there must be a reason.

Character name and canon: Squalo Superbi, Kateky Hitman Reborn!
About them:
Squalo is a trained mafia hitman, expert swordsman and right hand man to the flaming disaster known as Xanxus.
Whoops.
Current plans:
He's still pretty shaken from the event - it ended in his death, and as a result he'd lost his memories of Xanxus for almost a week.
Desired CR:
A bit of everything would be grand!
Not looking for:
Actual romance isn't going to happen ever. But I mean if your character wants to try, more power to them. I'm generally up for anything.
Other info:
While it doesn't necessarily come up a lot, it's better to play safe than sorry; I have an opt-out post for Squalo. Tl;dr in addition to already mentioned love for murder he has a strong "death before dishonor" mindset (though granted his idea of "honor" differs from the norm) which can result in suicidal themes, he has cut off his own hand as a teenager in case you had a pretty good opinion of his sanity so far, and finally his relationship with his boss can be a pretty strong shoutout to domestic violence.

royce in the distance: i mean, same, dude
No, but seriously, I think these two would be a trip. Royce is similar in the not really caring for morals thing, was an assassin/thief back home, and also has murdered people here and gotten away with it kind of sort of, so putting these two in the same place might be great or hilariously horrendous.
I'm not sure what they can get up to! Especially since they're sort of far from each other, but I'm gonna try to think of something.

Character name and canon: Davesprite | Homestuck

Character name and canon: Rocket, Guardians of the Galaxy

Character name and canon: Royce Melborn; Riyria Revelations

Character name and canon: Bluestar from Warrior Cats
In short? Everything.

Kathryn's idiots
Kathryn |
Re: Kathryn's idiots
