Network Prompts
ONE: BUMP IN THE NIGHT It's dark out, and congratulations - you're inside! What's not inside, you might ask? Monsters. Shadowy monsters that have surrounded whatever house you've taken shelter in. They can't get in... or can they? From time to time, the doors and the walls creak as if under an unbearable pressure.
Who can sleep when it's like this? Maybe you should take to the network to find a distraction. Or maybe someone has advice for getting rid of those things.
TWO: BRING OUT YOUR DEAD We mourn the loss of those who have died in the time between the last announcement and this one:
...is that your name on that list? It might be. Maybe you should let the others know you're not actually dead. Or, you know, if you happen to spot the name of someone you know and love on there, it might be time to ask around and see if anyone knows what happened to your dearly departed...
Action Prompts
THREE: KYRIE ELEISON You've found yourself in a small chapel, complete with bolted-down pews, an altar devoid of symbols, and stained glass windows depicting various saints. It's quiet... one might even say dead quiet. Which is a really awful pun to be making, considering if you follow the stairs down to the basement you'll find a morgue.
Explore to your heart's content, but you'll be forced out at 7 PM. Hopefully you don't find any unfortunately familiar faces among the dead.
FOUR: LIGHTS OUT Against all odds, you've managed to make it to shelter for the night. You pull the door shut behind you and turn to look at your surroundings - and that's when you see it. A ... person. Is it a person? It's hard to tell, because a moment later, you're plunged into darkness.
...better hope that's another unfortunate visitor to Norfinbury you've been locked in with, and not something more threatening.
[Toriel readily moves to help when she feels the blanket. The lack of sight in the darkness around them is irritating, but she doesn't dwell on it. Toriel is just glad they have the means to stay warm.
The boss monster gently smooths it over both of them, likely ensuring her child is a little burrito of human next to her.] There, are you warm?
Tell me, my child. What have you been up to? I hope you've been staying somewhat safe.
[Warmer than they've been in a while, actually. Certainly comfortable, being with somebody they loved so much.]
There's monsters here. Not like... everybody from the Underground. The admin calls them anomalies [they still have to sound out syllables on that one]. They also, um... they're a lot stronger and have hurt a lot of people here. But... I think if there's some way we can help them or even talk to them maybe we can make it so they don't hafta do that. They're looking for something.
[Um. Um um ummmm... oh right, duh.]
I'm trying to write down all the stuff we learn about them too, to make a guide we can send to everybody else.
[Toriel listens without interrupting, only resting a hand gently atop Frisk's head fondly. A tinge of worry is there but Toriel just pushes it away for her child.
Frisk sounding out anomalies makes her smile though.] When it's light, I'd like to see what you have written down. I'm fairly curious to see what you've found out so far. We should be able to help them somehow. [She sounds thoughtful now. Curious on what they could do.] If we can find what they're looking for, we can make things safer for everyone.
I'm proud of you. Even if you're just starting this, you're doing something good, my child.
[Though she can't see it, Frisk flushes a little with pleasure at her praise. She can probably feel them ducking their head a little against her side and nodding emphatically. They're quiet for a moment, letting themselves relax in a calm sense of comfort and safety that they've bee sorely missing ever since they came to Norfinbury.]
I missed you.
[They'd been here only a month or so but... they'd gotten used to having a family around them again. Especially having her, their mom.]
Oh my child... [She gently squeezes them close, wanting to hug Frisk- but also not wanting to disturb them. She bites at her lip trying to steady herself.
She has no idea just what Frisk has been facing here, it scares some part of her. Best she can do now is stay close as she can now that they're together again.]
[On the whole they've done well... though there've been... some things. Some things that they won't talk about too easily, any more than they'll talk about a lot of the worst things that happened during their journey.
It just helped a lot to have the people that were the reasons they stayed determined with them.
Something about what she says though... does make them wonder.]
Did you know we were gone?
["We" meaning them and Sans. If she does... it might say something about an idea they've had....]
[The mun truly has no idea, but we'll roll with it. Toriel nods slowly. She rests her hand against her forehead.] Yes- you both were just gone. Then I was here as well? It's all a bit... fuzzy for me, I must admit.
