they have a weird friendship?? if friendship is even the right word. she cares about him like a friend, but she also feels an understanding with him that she doesn't with the others. they both have that darkness in them and Clarke definitely sees that in him, which is part of the reason she's drawn to Klaus in the first place. so it's somewhat a friendship born out of their mutual failings and their capabilities to do bad things, as well as the bad things that they've experienced in their lives.
